Little Live Pets Scruff-A-Luvs S3 Safe & Sound

My daughter wanted this for Christmas and i was a little hesitant because some of the bad reviews even some pretty scary pictures. Many reviews said it was ugly and it didn't work correctly. First tip- don't rip it out of the box all willy nilly, pretend its a real animal and go easy. Read the box for instructions. Once open read the instruction paper... instructions say to wash for 10 minutes. So wash it for ten minutes rubbing ALL areas really well. I used a little conditioner too. The dog is squished into a ball using some kind of glueish stuff. It you don't get it all off it will leave the "fur" sticky. We missed a small spot on the underside of the tail (gotta wash the rear end good!) so i re wet that area and got the residue off. My only thought it maybe the negative reviews didn't wash it well. Our pup is super cute. We brushed it really good too while we dried with a blow dryer. My 6 year old has carried this pup around and taken very good care of it ever since she she got it. Worth the money.

My 9 year old daughter really wanted this for Christmas (from watching a TV ad, of course). After reading some mixed reviews, I reluctantly gave in and bought the dumb thing. But here it is Christmas and it is the one thing she hasn't stopped playing with all day. It came out of the box "shivering" in a ball, begging for a bath. So she followed the instructions on the box, all by herself, and bright it to life. It sleeps (snores), eats (slurps), whines for attention, gives loves (licking sounds) and even burps. I hate toys that make sounds, but this one isn't shooting (yet), it's still pretty adorable. And it has an off button! she says the one thing she doesn't like is that its heartbeat is actually on its head not in its body :-) all the electronics are in it's gigantic head. As long as you use warm water and a little bit older child does it, bathing and bringing to life process wasn't hard. Super sweet. Play like a kid version of high school health class baby doll to take care of :-)

This little toy is pretty cute. When you take it out of the box it starts “shivering” and you have to put it in a warm water bath. We wound up just putting it in the bathroom sink under the running water and it worked fine. We revealed a dog! You need to be careful to scrub all the stickiness out of the toys fur. We opted to remove the electronic sound box and then put it in the dryer on air fluff. After it’s dry you can bottle feed it, pet it, and that’s about it. This toy is fluffier than the other scruff a luvs but honestly not as exciting as hoped. My 4-year-old has played with it a couple times but it’s the toy she was most excited about and she’s played with the other toys she got for Christmas much more than this one.

My kids love this dog. When you initially get your pet, you have to bathe it to bring it to it's full softness - the instructions are ok but just rinsing it won't do. Once the animal is dry, it is really fun for the kids. It makes noises and eats and acts as much like a pet as you'd want a stuffed animal to, I suppose. Overall, this is a fun gift.

This toy is...weird. A fantastic concept. I am 100/100% all in on the idea. But immediately after taking the toy out of the packaging it was “shivering” and crying and wouldn’t stop until we put it in the shower for 10 minutes. Then we had to dry it off and only then did it stop crying. Bought it for my niece and she LOVED it. But didn’t really realize all it entailed at right away. The fur was sticky at first, took a lot of brushing before it got that nice fluff. Would recommend this as a gift as my niece truly loved it but maybe have them open it once you’re gone ;)

I don’t normally write reviews, but we had to for this! I bought this for my almost 5 year old and it is the CUTEST thing. If you treat it with love, clean it nicely and dry it fully, it comes out fluffy, soft and sweet! The noises are cute. And the accessories are high quality. I’m ordering another one for my 2 year old because her sister doesn’t let it go! Highly recommend. Worth every penny for their smiling faces.

Did this take a lot of work and time? Yes. Honestly I’ve complained to anyone who will listen to me about how big of pain this has been. It’s an expensive stuffed animal that required me to bathe and brush and bathe and brush and brush and brush. (I even added a dollop of Dawn dish soap to the bath water) We’re still not to a point of perfection and it’s been a couple days now. HOWEVER my daughter has spent more hours worrying about this darn animal than any toy I’ve bought so far. It purrs/vibrates and it also makes noise when you feed it. She adores all of the features and the never ending process of brushing (probably because she cons mom into the most amount of work) So far we’ve spent hours on this together and she’s not ready to stop🙃. If anything it’ll be a fantastic memory for her.

I bought this toy for my four year old daughter for Christmas. It was on sale and looked cute. She loved washing it to reveal if it was a cat or dog. We found out we rescued a dog and she was very excited. We spent time drying it and listening to it make little noises and shiver. She feeds it from the bottle a few times a day and walks around carrying it like a baby. My daughter also put it to bed in a cute shoe box bed we made her puppy. She is still playing with it daily and likes to comb her puppies hair. I think if you play with your child and the toy it makes it more exciting for them. I ask her to check and see if puppy is hungry or tired. It’s not a loud toy and it does have an off switch for bedtime. I am very happy with the toy.

Got this toy for my 3 year old for Christmas and she loves it! She loved bathing it and discovery what the ball of fluff turned in to. I did most of the work with brushing it out and drying it off, but she’s been obsessed taking care of it. The initial reveal is fun but it turns into a cute toy that can be played with for longer as well.

Gift for my niece . She loves this crap. I have no idea why they legit look like a stuffed animal you pulled from the dumpster but she’s is obsessed. This is the 4th one I’ve bought her.
