Eheim Quick Release Valve for Ecco

this part fits the filter but i needed the side with screws

I have 2217 canister and this fit perfectly. The original valve was still working after 20 years in service my own fault and I broke it. This replacement should last just as long.

Fits as expected, but shame on Eheim. These things break with even the slightest amount of force applied. I’ve had to replace two of them so far, and will likely just replace the whole filter next time.

I took a chance ordering this after seeing the 1-star review. It turned out to be exactly what *I* needed. Sorry it didn't work for the other reviewer, but it was just the part for me. For the first 24 hours or so after installing, I recommend keeping the pump in a 5-gallon bucket and letting it run - just to make sure everything is tightened properly. If the bucket is still dry after that, you're good to go.

Unable to use valve, the main part was missing. It was trash or maybe use. Wasn't worth the s&h to return

First, this is the correct part by the correct manufacturer. Second, whether a replacement part, or the original that came with the filter, the quick release valves have a weakness: The nipple that extends into the tube, which you put the hose over, snaps off. I had TWO of these break on the same day while trying to get the hoses off. One of them was a replacement part ordered here, the other was one that came with the filter. After the first one broke, i was very careful with the second, but it still broke. The one that was a replacement part was only 4 months old. Crazy. I've decided to try some generic black chinese version instead, as recommended by a random person in a fish forum. Never did I think I would see the day that i'd buy a chinese knock off over a german product. Tips for removing the hose from the nipple for those who will buy this anyway: First off, just dont. Leave it attached to the hose and clean the whole thing with the plastic attached to the end. Don't bother cleaning the little bit of hose between the filter and the valve, for the most part. Second, if you have to remove it, try running it under hot water, or pushing the edge straight up with a dull knife, or even just cutting the hose off. Don't bend the hose side to side to wiggle it off.

Pedí dos válvulas: una para sustituir y otra para tenerla por si acaso. Tengo un filtro Eheim Ecco 2236, y son iguales que las que traía el filtro. Sin fugas ni goteos.
