A New York Magazine Best Book to Gift Little Kids 2024 A bulldog and a poodle learn that family is about love, not appearances in this adorable doggy tale from New York Times bestselling author Kelly DiPucchio and illustrator Christian Robinson. This is the story of four puppies: Fi-Fi, Foo-Foo, Ooh-La-La, and Gaston. Gaston works the hardest at his lessons on how to be a proper pooch. He sips— never slobbers! He yips— never yaps! And he walks with grace— never races! Gaston fits right in with his poodle sisters. But a chance encounter with a bulldog family in the park—Rocky, Ricky, Bruno, and Antoinette—reveals there’s been a mix-up, and so Gaston and Antoinette switch places. The new families look right…but they don’t feel right. Can these puppies follow their noses—and their hearts—to find where they belong? Review: Easy to read aloud and adorable illustrations. Very pleased with this purchase! - I bought it for the cute dog on the front, and I wasn't disappointed- all of the illustrations are just as adorable & the story was easy to read aloud. I thought it was a nice revision of the ugly duckling tale with positive ideas about family love and acceptance instead of shame associated with being different. I'm going to use it to model a project for my high school students when we do our unit on the types of love. My five year old made me read it three times the day it arrived (she insisted I call her Ooh-La-La for the rest of the night). A book that can be appreciated by both genders, and a message I'm proud to share with my children. I'll be looking for more by this author and this illustrator. Review: Yes - I didn’t realize how big this book is, but it’s actually so cute. It’s a great baby book and I just frenchies

I love Gaston!
Not only does our baby love the story being read to her and the colorful pictures, my Husband loves reading the story. It’s fun for the whole family and really is a great story about blended families and acceptance. It’s reads smoothly and actually has a full storyline in a shorter book which is refreshing from a lot of kids books that on the last page leave you going “huh?” Gaston and his friends/family are adorable and quite the characters. We enjoyed so much, we ordered the Antoinette book which was just as much fun. We sent a copy of the book to our Nephew, as we knew he would enjoy these books so much too! This is now our “go to” gift for children.

It’s about “Family”…
We bought this book for our friend’s baby girl. They have a white French bulldog that’s aging, & we want the baby to grow with memories of her. This book is wonderful, and gave me the message of “family” and being grateful with who/how you grew up. We all don’t have the same story to share, but I’m sure if you traded places with another family for some time… You will understand the importance you built with your last. Beautiful read, and we are very excited to give to our friends. : )

Precioso
Es un libro precioso con unas ilustraciones muy divertidas. El estilo del autor es inimitable... me recuerda a los diseños de los años 50, los colores y la historia... Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Whether birth or adoption it is love that makes a family........
Gaston (a dog) realises he is different than the rest of his family and thinks he doesn't fit in and then one day he meets his biological family in the park and goes to live with them but realises he doesn't fit in with them but his family is his adopted family. He stays in contact with his biological family and it is a happily ever after story that my granddaughters love because it the message is let your children be who they are and love is what matters not biology - one of my granddaughters is biological and one is adopted and that is what I have always told them is it didn't matter. We stumbled across this book that just reinforced the message I have been telling all their lives and we love it!

Gaston
