Wonderful and timeless story!
My mother was an elementary school teacher and I grew up in the 60’s reading this book. Recently I became a grandmother and was thrilled to find that it is still in print. Wonderful and timeless story with classic Maurice Sendak illustrations. Highly recommend!

So in love.
This was my favorite book as a toddler. It literally instilled my love of reading. This book was a great price and in excellent condition.

Say, what is your problem?
After reading together, my 7 year old grandson realized right away that 'I am not your friend anymore' is a sentence that is 'silly' and 'not really true' and 'doesn't say what is your problem'. So.

I love this!
This little book describes little-boy behavior (and big-boy behavior, for that matter) to a T, with wonderful illustrations to top it all off. Loved it.

Nice Teaching Tool
My daughter loves this book, the illustrations and the story are great and its a quick bedtime read. Teaches a nice tale about having a squabble and becoming friends again.

Let's Be Enemies
A wonderful book for children and adults as well. We all get upset with our nearest and dearest at one time or another. This book is a lesson on resolving conflict and understanding what is important in a relationship. Great book!

My favorite book when I was 3-4 years old
My favorite book when I was 3-4 years old. I memorized it and used to 'read' it to my friends, much to their parents' amazement. Bought it for my granddaughter and can't wait to share it with her.

Before ordering, check whether you're happy with mini editions of books you love.
This is a classic story, a very realistic childhood experience, written by Janice Udry and illustrated by Sendak. Young friends quarrel. One friends broods over all the mean things done by the other. These memories gradually merge into gentler nostalgic images of the fun things they used to do together - when they were friends. But his resolve is firm: he marches off to declare their friendship over for ever, and does so. Seamlessly and naturally, with no conscious decision made by either, and no apologies given or received, this clash transitions into an invitation to roller skate together, reciprocated by half a pretzel from the other friend. Off they go again, best friends reunited, each wearing one roller skate and with half a pretzel each.I love this story but I don't like these tiny mini versions of old classics that even in paperback were published in normal picture book dimensions. This is the third time I've ordered one of these disappointing editions, expecting the old familiar format. Who do they appeal to? Some marketing genius has decided that they are a thing? I thought this publisher could be relied upon. I was wrong. I'm returning this small square book to Amazon and will search for a decent sized used copy.

delizioso libriccino, poetico e tenero
