Gets the job done.
Arc welding takes practice and patience. That being said, this little welder will get most household jobs done. Here's some advice: 1) order some Forney 40202 E6013 5/16" welding rods. The difference is night and day vs any other rod with this welder. 2) CLEAN your work surface. Get that rust/old paint/grease off if you want a clean weld. 3) Practice, practice, practice. If you don't know what your doing, find an old timer on YouTube. They are excellent teachers.I fixed up a bunch of junk shop carts with this welder bringing them back to life. Welded a socket on stripped out O2 sensor and used a 4' cheater bar to back it out. We also repaired a busted motor mount on a friends snowmobile. I'm sure the repair will outlast the sled.Arc welding seems to be becoming a lost art in favor of MIG. But, given the versatility of an ARC welder, I would take one over a MIG any day.

Portability and quality for welding thinner material is important.
Works nicely for the small engine projects I do. I dont have a lot of use for a welder so I dont want a big welder and bottles in the way. With this one, i keep it on a sturdy shelf in the basement when not in use. Love the portability and for the 1/8 inch metal I'm welding, it works great.

No Welding shield
It didn't have the face shield? It showed it was part of the kit. That comes with it?

Weak ass welder
Works fine with the little rods that come with it. Anything bigger it doesn't have the power to burn. Weak

No frills no upgrades stick welder.
Great for light use or the beginner welder. The limitations on electrodes is a bummer, but the 5/64 work amazing on tacking metal and run a great pool. This is a simple AC unit and no room to upgrade stick holders or ground clip with out taking the unit apart. If you want more ability to grow as a welder, go with a different unit. If you just need something to fix a tool or weld billets together as a forger, this unit can do it.

We bought this for our son who has really been able to use it with ease. It is perfect for small projects!! Happy with this purchase!!

dont buy, pass it up,
first try cant strike an arc.finally worked but skippedwent with better unitdo yourself a favor, dont buy it
