Awesome Dawson

I am unsure why I was so surprised to find out this book barely has words. I really wanted to read a story. It is just pictures.

I bought this because I like Chris Gall's Dinotrux series. I also loved his book "Dog Vs. Cat." This one had an interesting story but was a bit difficult for my four-year-old to understand. Maybe it should have been a bit longer and is too condensed for the story line it is attempting to convey.

This book is a recommended read for sure. My students really enjoyed it.

Purchased for my 4 yr. old grandson and was afraid he was to young for the story but he really gets it. Has become his second favorite book after 'Dinotruxs'.

My 5 yr old loves it! Thinks it's pretty cool that Dawson is able to build and create neat inventions. My 5 yr old got a kick out of Dawson's "best friend ".

We bought this book to use for our first literacy unit back in September (primary school teacher) so I can't comment on how effective it is for that - pretty sure the children will love it though, especially the boys! (year 5 - age 9) A comic style book with lots of pictures and speech bubbles etc, very bright and colourful.

I bought this for my son whose name is Dawson. The story is really not good. I hide this book at the back of the shelf to avoid having to read it to him. Firstly, it encourages children to find ways to avoid doing chores which is a weird message. I also don't like having to explain a "brain transplant" to my kid. I also think some of the language is just not well thought out, for example, the cow is called "Mooey" like they couldn't have come up with anything more clever than that. All round I was just very disappointed in this book and regret buying it.

My son's favourite book! It has encouraged him to be an inventor.
