Frosty, Frosty CPU ... and cheap.
I suppose I should start out by saying I've modified and built numerous general use desktops, home theater PCs and high-performance gaming rigs over the last decade. I've tried almost every popular CPU cooler from stock fan/heatsinks (such as this one) to massive heatsinks and liquid cooling systems. Let me share a little pearl of wisdom I've learned over the years:If it ain't broke, don't fix it.I'm currently running an AMD A8-3850 processor on a Gigabyte A75M-UD2H motherboard and this cheap "stock" CPU cooler has my processor running at 11-12 degrees Celsius at idle and 32-36 degrees Celsius when fully stressed during gaming. Yes, the fan makes noise, but it isn't as loud as some of the larger heatsinks with larger fans I've used. Not only that, but I've used larger CPU coolers and liquid cooling systems that didn't keep a CPU this cool. A cold CPU is a healthy CPU and 11-36 degrees Celsius is VERY cold for a CPU using only a heatsink and fan.Of course, how well this fan/heatsink works on your desktop will vary depending on the processor TDP, the ambient temperature in your room, the ventilation in your PC case, the number of other case fans and the airflow path within the case. Some people will try to tell you to buy giant heatsinks ... but they're almost never any better than this at cooling a CPU. Not only that, but massive heatsinks don't always fit in typical mini tower cases. Unless you've got a MASSIVE tower, don't buy a massive heatsink.Similarly, unless you can't stand the sound of more than one fan inside your PC case, don't waste your money on liquid cooling solutions. Every liquid cooling solution on the market has MULTIPLE potential points of failure (even the simple, pre-built closed systems). If something goes wrong with liquid cooling you might have to spend time trying to figure out which part is to blame or you'll have to spend money replacing the whole system.A basic fan/heatsink has only ONE potential point of failure: the fan. If the fan ever dies, just unscrew the fan from the heatsink and replace it with another fan that costs $2-$10 ... or just buy a whole new fan/heatsink like this one since it's so cheap. The only minor issue I have with this cooler is that the sticker on the fan doesn't have the AMD logo like the photo in the description ... but who really cares? It's a sticker; remove it before you install the fan/heatsink if it bothers you. At this price, I can hardly complain.

Hard to install, but works great once in.
Spring loaded hold-down screws on heatsink/fan very stiff and took time to install.

It works very well
The picture displayed with the AMD sticker on the CPU fan is not what I received but I got was a processor box with a CPU fan. Someone kept the heatsink and sold me the fan. That is okay because all I needed was the fan but I cannot tell if this fan is new or used. I ordered a new one.The fan that was sold to me was much smaller than my original CPU stock fan. I was able to mount it without any problems and it did have a 4 pin connector which is what I needed.Even though this fan is smaller it actually keeps my CPU cooler. My original stock fan speed was around 800RPM and it cooled my CPU down to 34c. This small fan speed runs at 2020RPM and cools my CPU down to 22c.

works great
i bought this to replace CPU fan on my wife's computer, it is a perfect replacement in fit and cooling capacity, I used a small amount of thermal paste when i installed it to help with heat transfer. Is is very quite, even quitter than the original. it has help up and keeps doing a great job. if you have a computer that needs this, I think you will be happy. one word of caution when removing the old fan be very careful not to damage the CPU as i did. The old fan had stuck to the CPU and when i removed it I bent the pins, and wound up having to replace CPU as well as the fan

Great Fan for a Great Price.
The fan was super easy to install, it fit perfectly. My previous fan was extremley loud so I wanted to replace with something that wouldn't bother me. Luckely this fan is pretty quiet, while at the same time keeping my cpu cool.Only problem is it stays quiet when im at system idle or just browsing the web, but when I start to run games (such as Dota2, LoL, Starcraft) the fan does become a bit louder. But if your wearing a headset the chances are you probably won't even hear it, but people in the same room as you might become a bit annoyed of the amount of noise coming from it, which again isn't that great of an amount.

BEWARE
I don't know if any one else has had this problem but I received this in the mail and took the cover off the computer HP p6310y and removed the old fan that had started making a little noise. Very carefully put the processor back in checking first to see if any pins were bent, all looked good. I set the new fan and cooling block in and slipped the plug on the MB where it was suppose to go. Turned the PC on and with in 5-6 seconds the fan quit and a message on the monitor said " cooling fan stopped". Shut it down and looked at the fan and decided to try it once more and the same thing happened. I took the new fan and block out and put the old one back in, booted up and the computer seem to run fine, all the fans were running but nothing on the monitor? Switched to a different monitor, nothing. Did some Google searches and found this had happen to a couple of other people. It can possibly be the motherboard, or integrated graphics card. Well now I am without! I finally looked at the new one again and found that it was a bit smaller in size and also had a four wire connector and my old one had a three wire. I have put SSD hard drive and also upgraded to 16 gigs of ram and now I have a case with some parts. Be sure what you are getting and check the wiring before replacing

Value for money
I purchased this AMD Fan & Heat-sink on Amazon (Amamax) because my old AMD Athlon 11x4 620 CPU fan(STOCK FAN) was malfunctioning.Although advertised as Original AMD the fan I received fan was not labelled "AMD" and the Heat-sink wasa bit smaller than the original(The one I got with my AMD Athlon ii x 4 620 Boxed Processor.)Any way I ended up using the only the fan I received, together with the old original Heat-sink I had.I seems to be working okay so far keeping my AMD Athlon 11x4 running between 32°C to 35°Cnormal use (surfing Microsoft Office applications etc.) and 38 °C to 45 °C. (Movies, Gaming etc.)Using "StressMyPC" it reached a maximum temperature of 59 °C at maximum use
