Bulldog Cases Rapid Release Polymer Holster

 8/16/18: added felt from michaels. Black felt adhesive backed they are $1.19 per 8 1/2 x 11” sheet andnit made it nice and smooth without a rattle!The holster is a great holster so far, with a few exceptions.#1, the holster is very loose and rattles. When you walk the firearm will rattle and you lose the element of surprise. Definitely not recommended for security or law enforcement. You want to be stealthy. This won’t cut it. M#2, the spring tention seems a bit weak. Yes easy to overcome with an index finger, but I feel it needs to be a little stiffer spring. If your out doors riding your ATV or UTV, and accideny bump the release lever your firearm could bounce or fall right out. There really should be a shroud around the release mechanism, to prevent accidental release. You lean against a wall or counter the release will release your weapon.Fix for problem #1, add some felt dots or felt strips down the side. This will not only prevent your weapon from getting scratches or wear marks but will also tighten up the loose feeling and stop the rattle.Fix for problem 2, replace with a stiffer spring. You’ll need to test a few different springs to get the one your comfortable with. With this spring that came in it, I fear just a bump on an ATV or UTV could release the weapon. Then you’ll be backtracking to find it if you didn’t notice it right away.More review to follow after some use and time! I have two of these, one for my M&P .40 Smith and Wesson and another for my Shield .40 Smith and Wesson. I wanted a holster that would provide some security against any attempt to remove the gun, but would not inhibit its use. I draw with my trigger finger extended, which naturally falls on the release.I live in an open carry state, and I see people with open holsters from which anyone behind them can quickly remove the weapon. This holster is not a 100% solution to the problem, but it goes a long way toward protecting the weapon; even if the thief were to know that there was a release mechanism, it would be difficult to remove the gun without alerting me.

Works Great with my Rock Island 1911 45 ACP Compact. This is an open carry holster, it sticks out from the waistband too far to actually cover it with a shirt. I knew that coming into it so I'm not disappointed, just letting others know in case they were going to buy it to try it for that. Would conceal nicely with a heavy jacket during the winter. Rugged design for how inexpensive the product was. The retention works really well, I have not been able to draw the pistol without depressing the detent.

I don't review most items, but this holster is so much better than the one that come with the pistol. Hugs your body better, and not as tough to draw from. The angle is adjustable and the release makes it feel very comfortable. I tried some Iwb holsters and didn't care for them. This is more useable and comfortable for me.

No where close to fitting. If ya cut off about 1/2 " of plastic and reheat to reform it you might get it to fit. Out of the box it worthless... returning it. Update.. talked to Bulldog.. this is only for the cremson trace laser. They don't bother to tell you. Not on the packaging... Just says with laser. Wasted my time. Will be looking for another brand.

They are not as easy to use as I thought. It is a fight to get the holster past my belt. And it is just as hard to extract the holster! LOL... It would almost be easier to treat it like a belt holster, and partially removing the belt to remove the holster. But, it functions well and holds my Colt 1911 firmly without rattles when I'm working outdoors or bouncing along on a motorcycle.

Works well! there is quite a bit of rattle using my detonics compact 45, but it stops it from completely falling out and makes it easily removable

I'm very pleased with the price and quality. I like that the holster has a release button on the outside. I've found that very convenient. You also hear a snap when the gun is holstered. I like that too! I have another holster for another gun and keep feeling for the release (that isn't there). I got so used to this one.
