The Sting is my second kite and is a step up from recreational kiting into traction kiting. An extremely versatile and strong four line kite, with great quality construction and attention to detail. Now looking for a landboard to use it with. Plenty of information on the manufacturer's website too and I can see why they say they have sold over 4,000 of these kites! Top marks and amazing value for money at $150! Recommended.

I bought this kite at the end of August and have enjoyed it on a couple of nice outings, today included. Flexifoil is a fantastic kite company that cares about your kite flying experience. The product is exquisite in every detail. They even contacted me by email, independent of Amazon, just to make sure all was found to be to my liking and if I was pleased with my new kite, the Sting 1.7 quad line.Yes it flies great at the beach. But I really have a great time with it at the nearby parks because I don't have to worry about the trees due to the short lines of a stunt kite. It's fun and satisfying to enjoy the grassy parks in addition to the more dramatic power experiences of the Pacific Coast beach winds.Everything you read in the discription about Flexifoil kites is true and right on. You won't be sorry you chose a Flexifoil. But if for any reason you think this kite is not for you after you've bought yours, contact the people at Flexifoil (if they don't contact you first) and they will certainly make it right and make you happy. Having owned a Big Buzz, it was time to progress to a four line kite. The Sting 1.7 was recommended by another kiting enthusiast. More dynamic than the two line Big Buzz because the Sting's two rear lines work as brakes so easy to stop/start in the air allowing for neat tricks as well as taking a well-earned break! As ever, made of top-notch materials, it has been thrashed into the ground relentlessly, yet still remains as strong as ever. Not too powerful so won't drag you around but still a lot of fun... recommended...

I have a couple of these kites in different sizes and love them all, they are all great in different wind conditions. However, I’ve found that for the most fun the 1.7 size seems to cover it all, from low wind speeds when you need a bigger kite to catch the air to higher wind speeds (when bigger kites become too powerful) this one works the best. It has plenty of power to keep you on your toes but not too much that it becomes uncomfortable to fly. It’s fast and very manoeuvrable with the ability to quickly turn direction. If your new to power kiting then I would suggest buying one of these, and if like me you have also moved on to bigger and more powerful kites you will keep finding yourself taking these out to just have fun and enjoy flying.

Being an experienced kitesurfer myself i wanted something that my 8 year old son could use that would also last him for a while. I was dubious at first as i am well aware of the power that power kites can generate and remember my first flight on a Flexifoil Bullet some 15 years earlier.Having used this a handful of times now i have to say it is brilliant, it generates power without feeling out of control. It keeps you on your toes and stops you getting board.A great addition to anyones set.

This is a great kite! Size is just right to be smooth and usable in lighter breezes (5mph), and powerful and fun in stronger breezes (12mph+), being nicely responsive for endless entertainment. If you want just one all-round kite from the Sting range, this could the one to go for. The 4-line configuration works well and the handles and straps are comfortable, although they look a bit “cheap” compared with earlier versions from the Sting range that I have.

I love this kite! It arrived quickly (delivered on a Sunday!) and I took it down to the common that day. Its easy to set up and get going and the bright colours look awesome against a blue sky. Recommend it highly!!

Great Kite, not flown anything like this before but after following the instructions it was up and flying within minutes of putting everything together. Good fun and excellent quality product. Plenty of videos for this product on YouTube to help you get going. I probably should have got a bigger one!

As usual another great kite from flexifoil, fast, responsive and pulls hard for it's size.

Brilliant kite..brought it for my daughters 11th birthday, she already windsurfs now she wants to kite surf! I just want a bigger one for me!!!

I have the bigger brother of this and the smaller one has no compromises on build and flight quality. Totally excellent all round. Comes in a great little bag too. Much better than some of the cheaper foils I have owned, worth every penny.

No tenía ni idea de cometas y por recomendaciones compré esta. Tiene un manual de instrucciones muy gráfico y completo, por lo que en cuestión de un rato ya estaba haciendo filigranas con ella. Cierto que al ser relativamente pequeña no empuja con exceso pero desde luego que es divertidísimo jugar con la ventana de viento. Perfecta para lo que estaba buscando. Los días de playa son más divertidos ahora.

Abituato fino ad ora ad aquiloni "con stecche", per essere il mio primo flexifoil lo trovo ottimo. sembra decisamente robusto, vola anche con poco vento (specialmente rispetto ad aquiloni con stecche!)

Kite flies. Relatively well. Though expected a little more from Flexfoil. A more solid pull maybe. A little better reaction to control from the handles.Don't get me wrong this is an entry level kite and is much better than any noname brand you might purchase. I was just hoping for a little bit more from the kite to pull me on my buggy on those really high wind days. (Maybe I should except that I should not be out on the buggy on those days)
