Like this Stubby
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered this, but I knew I wanted a smaller type antenna than the stock antenna for my 2012 F250 Lariat. My stock antenna hits the garage door each time along with the parking garage where I work. But my biggest issue was when using the car wash, I was concerned over time it would eventually break it. Also my truck has a rubber boot at the base the antenna and I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to slide this boot over the Stubby. Turned out to be pretty easy. I removed the stock antenna when it was 10 degrees outside here in Alaska, slid the Stubby through the boot and using the smaller of the 2 threaded bolts that came with the Stubby, I screwed it into the base and was finished in less than 5 minutes. I have tested the reception, and again I’m pleasantly surprised and pleased with its performance. Here in Eagle River/Anchorage Alaska area, I’m able to have the same reception quality as my stock antenna. So I am very pleased. I also received an email from the maker of the the Stubby prior to it arriving with some common questions or concerns, but they stand behind there product and insured if I wasn’t 100% satisfied, I could return it without issue. Customer service goes a long way with me and I feel they exceeded my expectations. Nice job CravenSpeed!

Nothing but static!
I have an 08 F250, I was tired of having the long stock whip antenna. I wanted a small antenna, after reading some reviews I went ahead and tried the Stubby. Install is easy, the kit comes with a large and skinny thread pins, my truck used the skinny threaded pin, after screwing it down and making sure all was tight I turned on the trucks radio FM and AM are all static. Thinking maybe its where I was parked, I drove around the block and still nothing but static. Other people state it works great and other say not so much. Unfortunately for me I have to be in the not so great category. Looks great, but doesn’t work. I will be returning.

Definitely a stubby
As described, very short, gives a great look. Recommend installing it with normal tighting than starting the vehicle making sure the item works. Once you have verified it's in working condition and reciving good reception, take it off and use red lock tight and hand tighten as hard as possible. This will prevent someone being able to unscrew it by hand stealing your antenna.

If you want "GREAT" reception - This is not it
Good Points: The product is super small in size and does not interfere with the auto car wash nor flop in the wind going down the interstate.I didn't buy the antenna because I wanted good radio reception. I bought it for it's stealth look on my F-250. So if you are looking for a product that is going to "boost" your reception or think it is going to be "as good" as your factory antenna, this is not the product for you. The reception isn't bad.. It just isn't that great. If I had to do it over again, I would still purchase this product. The good outweighs the mediocre reception.

Tiny, but little to no FM reception UPDATE
Tiny antenna, looks fine, doesn’t break off in the car wash, but don’t expect to scan the FM radio unless you live by the radio towers. I don’t care about that but for a test I hit the scan button and it never found a station and I’m about 25 miles west of Cleveland( where all the stations are based). UPDATE- antenna lasted about 6 months and is gone. Snapped off. Dunno when, but it’s not there. Can only do touchless car washes due to my wheels and truck height. So the antenna is a waste or 20 bucks.

Makes Drive Thru Carwash much Easier
I purchased this stubby antenna for my Ford F250 Super Duty Truck so I wouldn't have to get out of my truck and remove the OEM antenna every time I went through a car wash. I live in Houston Area and listen to AM statios regularly and I maintain good reception in the area. I do notice a drop off in reception when I travel to the Lake which is about 60 Miles further North from where I live but I still get reception just harder to hear. I have Sirius Radio for those times I'm out of the area so I am willing to accept some signal loss for the convenience of not removing the OEM antenna each time I go through the Carwash.

Car wash resistant
Bought this for my 2018 Superduty to match my 2019 F150. Reception is so, so. Dont matter to me tho, always stream bluetooth or Sirius. Used locktite to prevent theft since friends one for his Ram actually got stolen. Also haven't had any issues with the carwash.

Quality, Style, Petfirmance
Installed on a 2016 F250 Super DutyGood looking ok with the low profile and feels like a quality product. We are well outside the City in a wooded and slightly hilly area yet reception seems just as good as the taller OEM antena.Install was easy.Suggestion, if you have a rubber boot, use a little soapy water to help remove and reinstall the boot. If you use pliers or channel locks to pull up on the boot, use a rag to avoid cutting / gouging the boot. With the soapy water boot will slide over this shorter yet larger diameter antena with minimal effort.
