Makes bowl turning much easier with fewer catches
As a relatively new turner, I rapidly learned that turning the inside of a bowl with the stock straight tool rest that came with my lathe is challenging. This rest sits much closer to the wood, and substantially reduces the chance of the tool catching. It is also nicely made, with a nice flat smooth top. It fits my Jet mini lathe quite well.

Just Got Here
Have not had a chance to use the tool rest. Just picked it up this afternoon. Looks like it should work well. Construction looks to be of a high quality.

I would have rated this much higher if it wouldn't be for the short post it is way to short for my lathe I have to use a wrench to over tighten the lock bolt so it gets firm enough to use otherwise it is made really good

Does a Good Job!
Really well designed and made tool rest. Just what you need to get inside deeper bowls to turn them safely.One gripe that knocks off a point. The top edge is described as polished, but in reality it is not smooth. Kind of a coarse grinding. Be prepared to hand sand it if you want a slick surface.

Perfect for up to 6 inch tall bowls
This rest reaches the bottom of a 6 inch deep bowl and offers the stability needed to comfortably turn that tricky area. The 5/8 inch post standard "S" curve rest falls short of the depth needed and a standard straight rest does not offer the stability for turning the last curve down to the bottom. This rest has met all of my expectations.
