KOHLERK-9132-CP Shower Drain, One Size, Polished Chrome

This is a very nice shower drain.If you took the time and effort to put in a nice custom shower, this is a nice finishing touch.The compression fitting is a bit challenging to use. I suggest you put the down pipe in prior to installing this drain. You will need a hard surface and a 2 inch coupler to press the pipe into the fitting. A lot of elbow grease and effort will be required. But it will seal in there very nicely.The look and quality of this drain are well worth the effort to install it. There is not much else out there that even compares to this.It is not cheap, but if you are looking at it you don't want cheap.I used plumbers putty on the mating surface of the shower floor. This does make tightening down the drain a bit more difficult. But it adds to the water tight seal.If you found this review helpful, please click the helpful box. Some of the finishes on some my sink drains installed at the same time have lost some luster, but this has held up perfectly. We have hard water, and it is hard on finishes. But this has not seen any ill effects. I still think it is expensive for a drain. But I still think it is worth it, if you appreciate the little details.

I bought what the plumbing guy at Lowes told me to buy and it turned out to be a plastic piece of crap. It started leaking within two years so I gooped it and siliconed it and it would stop leaking for a few months but would always start leaking again. I finally bought this and it is heavy duty and built so good. It is not easy to install but I managed and I can't see how it could leak. People complain about the center rubber seal being so hard to put in. It is but a little dish soap makes it much easier. I would buy this again if I needed one but I'm sure I never will.

As other reviewers have said, this is a very nice, well-built drain assembly and I would not hesitate to recommend it based on quality alone. In my case, however, it did not fully seat down into the depression in my DreamLine Slimline shower base. Note that I am not talking about the size of the hole in the shower base but the diameter of the recessed depression into which the drain seats. The external diameter of the flange on this product is 4-3/8 inches (4.38 inches as listed in the specs). Most other drain assemblies, like the Oatey 42150, have an external diameter of only 4-1/8 inches. I ended up returning this and buying the Oatey drain instead and it fits perfectly into my shower base. This may not be an issue depending on the brand and design of your shower base, but be sure to check the dimensions before you order.

I ordered this through Amazon’s open box and saved a lot compared to the regular price. Contractors installed last week and works like a charm. Very happy with the quality of this drain and good looks! It is definitely a universal drain and should fit a shower liner on the right or left hand side that is circular. It is very well constructed, you would be hard-pressed to find a similar one at a better price

Seems solid & appears well made except for the strainer. This looks terrible & is shiny on the wrong side! Don't know if this was an error or what. Good thing I won't be using it anyway. Do not see the installation tool that I understand comes with most drains. Overall, it should perform well. UPDATE: Did not realize it had a white coating to deter scratching! My mistake...Plumber installed & seems happy with it due to ease of installation. Also no need for the drain wrench, again due to how it is installed. We will see how it performs!

It's Kohler, so it's pretty much top of the line. But it's Kohler, so you pay an arm and a leg for it.I like the fact that the grate just snaps in place. Very handy if you need to get a snake or something down the drain; no screws to undo.

Bought this to go along with our new shower pan as part of our remodeling project. It was an exact fit, easy to install, and doesn't leak. If you read the included instruction sheet and take a few minutes to follow the instructions you'll be very satisfied with this shower drain. Make sure to measure your PVC pipes several times so you get it right the first time!

A good, high quality drain. We have one on our new porcelain shower base and one on a "plastic" shower base, They look good and work well. Excellent product.

This drain is well made, its all metal except for the gaskets and seal. The grill is a good fit, it will not come off easily and get lost but it is removable should the need arise. During install we followed the included instruction and I have had no leaks for a year now and I don't expect any anytime soon. This drain is expensive, hence 4 stars.

Well made quality material. Fits perfect on the Kohler shower base (91937-0). Installation was easy from the top . I notice some reviews about the loose fitting of the drain cover. It is made to be loose so you can lift and clean the drain if needed. It is heavy enough that it does not fly away.

Quality product with a beautiful finish. Should last for many years worry free. The removable face plate is not loose and flimsy contrary to what others have said; metal tabs beneath the plate's perimeter create a snug fit onto the base.
