My cockatiel loves this travel carrier. Affordable, and even comes with a perch! It can be used as a backpack, or you can carry it from the top. There’s a side little door and you can open from plastic (like regular backpack)

Great carry for our bird, he really enjoy going out with us. Enough space for putting food, water, a few perches, and toys.

I can’t believe I’m writing a review for a backpack for our parakeet, but here we are... We adopted our parakeet two years ago, after seeing a listing on Nextdoor.com. He had been flying around in a park when someone managed to capture him by throwing their jacket over him. Once we brought him home, it took awhile for him to get really comfortable, but he has grown into a confident, strong, active bird who enjoys his many mirror “friends” and various games and toys. He loves to go for car rides when we take him on road trip vacations. Personally, I thought he was living his best life. Until my 12 year old daughter came up with the idea to carry him around to, say, the mall or for an after dinner stroll, the way some people tote their small dogs around. A quick search of Amazon found this backpack. We were skeptical but to our surprise, said backpack is really good quality, and has a well-thought out design and features such as the stackable food/water dishes. Our bird is thrilled to stroll around in the backpack! The only criticisms I would offer are that it only came with one perch which is a little too close to the back “wall” of the pack (but you can bend it for adjustment) and the water container is not water tight (leaks if don’t keep it upright). Otherwise we highly recommend this this product.

I love this little backpack for traveling with my smallish birds!! I do recommend letting it air out for a bit, possibly even setting it in the sun for a little UV cleaning, but it didn't have a very strong smell. I'm just a bit cautious. The zippers glide smoothly without too much noise, none of my birds have cared as they were zipped in. With an added fan, ventilation is no issue. I wouldn't personally use it without a fan though, as the additional air current helps with ventilation, especially on warmer days. It's been secure and kept my buddies safe so far on trips to the vet or the store! Very easy to set the perches where your birds need them based on their tail length, which I love. Highly recommend this carrier for any sort of bird that prefers grasping a perch to sitting flat on the floor.

We have a pet cockatiel who is very comfortable traveling in this backpack - we have taken him on small trips across town in it, and more recently in a cross state move (about 8 hours in the car) - the handle on top made it easy to pass a seatbelt through so we could keep him secure on the drive, and he could see the world as we traveled. The backpack has handy zipper doors on either side to easily pass him in / out (he can also walk in if he's so inclined) or a larger zip all around the top to fully open the bag up for thorough cleaning. It also comes with a rope perch that attaches to the small circular holes in the front and side, where you can also attach a feeding bowl / water bowl if you need to (there are ample holes for both perches and bowls.) The backpack also comes with a tray to put in the bottom, so you can lay down pet pads or whatever you prefer to use for easy mess cleanup. I was very grateful to have this backpack for moving, we have tried other pet carriers and cages in the past for birds and this was by far the easiest and best experience for both us owners and the bird!

I recently travelled from Texas to Washington. WOW - everyone in the airport wanted to see the bird since they had never seen a traveling budgie before, and the “space bubble” was a source of endless fascination. Even if they didn’t stop me to see him, I heard lots of murmuring “of look, honey, that’s a little bird in there” as I made it to my gate. He’s already a rock star, as his name is Freddie Mercury because he LOVES to sing (and I don’t think budgies are typically song birds). But in the airport he had “fans” flocking to see him. I gave my little guy a gentle break in by first giving him his favorite treat with the bubble part mostly down, but while he was sitting on the perch. Next we had daily treats as we closed up the bubble progressively over maybe a week or so. Finally, we put Freddie in and finally closed up the case. We then moved him from room to room, giving him a treat each time. By the time we were ready to go to the airport, so was he. It was a long flight, so no one said a peep to me when I offered water and food through the small zip-up hole in the side. Both were appreciated, so I’m going to say that Freddie seemed happy enough to eat and drink, especially because he had an easy view that “mom” was right there the whole time. I heartily endorse this little traveler. A couple of things I would note. First, it’s not “technically” the right size for some airlines. Alaska wants no larger than 9” wide, and unless you squish the fabric side, this measures 10”. Also, some airlines, (American that I know of), won’t allow birds in the cabin. And finally, you should probably consider taking a knock-down cage of some sort to spend his day in. I have a simple little cage that snaps together and I took it apart and put it in a suitcase. My bird can fly and I couldn’t see him being in the “pod” for rest or overnight. Freddie would just fly around at will if I left him in only 1/2 the “pod” and he’d be too cramped to zip him in overnight. And finally, if you offer food or water through the little zipper hole, be very careful if you have an escape artist - that zipper hole opens widely enough that my arm won’t block it entirely; I can’t imagine the mayhem if Freddie took to the wing in an airplane. Don’t even want to think about it. But all these little things aside, the carrier worked beautifully. Five stars!

This is such a great invention! Sturdy, well made. Easy to clean! 10/10 Perfect size for our cockatiel. She loved it.

I can bring along my parrot and travel.is very to carry him and put for me him is food and water. He very happy to travel he never makes noise. He is enjoying outdoors. And the bag is very comfortable For him.

It comes with one perch, a holder that holds Water, treats/pellets/seeds, and a tray to catch the poop. The ventilation is great but its still important to remember that it can still get very hot in this bag and best to not bring them on a scolding hot day or just not for too long.
