Great Vac
The suction power is perfectly effective for dust, dirt extraction and even small debris(very small) though its not intended to be used for that. The way its built and designed the filter never gets dirty and the original dust bag can be used over and over even though it comes with 10 additional bags. Bluetooth connection is great with aws compatible tools no longer have to turn on vac separately just run your aws compatible tool and vac automatically turns on and off. The main reasons you would purchase this vac is for mobility(light weight) don't have to lug around 14 gallon shop vacs killing yourself, cordless( I hate cords), aws if you're on the Makita platform, quiet then corded vacs, safety meets all hepa regulations so to me it was a no Brainer. I tend to use this vac even more because it's so small when in the past I never felt like grabbing my bigger vac when I'm doing work even when its sitting in the back of my truck ready to go.

Great dust collection vac
first off this vacuum is only for dust, this is not a shop vac and does not have very strong suction but works well as intended,i paired it with their 12 inch cordless duel sliding compound miter saw with AWS and after several cuts there was next to no dust left on the saw and a ton in the vacuum bag,i got their smaller 2 gallon one (No AWS)to go with their cordless sander and their 36 volt saw we have a lot of older houses in our area and lead paint is in just about all of them these vacuums are rated to handle that but i still suggest a mask if your getting one for that,i have not seen any dust get past their filter but better safe then sorry.only real cons for me is they are very expensive, and would be nice if they came out with a power cord adapter to use on there 36volt cordless tools and vacuums for larger jobs so you dont have to keep swapping batterys if its going to be stationary for a few days.

Disappointed
This unit is battery only no 110 volt option given, suction power is mediocre, I have not found a remote controlled pendant option...? Unit does not come with batteries or charger... The port for the vacuum hose is in the front of the unit which makes it very difficult to use when it's mounted in a cabinet... The extra $100 for the festool is definitely worth it you can purchase a additional remote control for the unit. The Makita seems to fall over easily when pulled by the hose... The unit is not supplied with a handheld extension floor wand. With all the disappointing features for non supplied features I will keep the inner to go with my Makita track saw which works incredibly well unfortunately this unit needs some more engineering and options available for the price....!
