Perfect Toys!
I actually bought this one on sale just to go in the living room toybox for when company comes over with little ones. These Green Toys are absolutely the best, hands down! What's not to love? The minute you recieve one you relize the substantial and durable quality of them. They are easy to clean and I literally can not fathom any saftey hazards whatsoever with these toys (other than if the are used as a projectile, but that is the case with most toys that are not fabric, so obviously if there is a baby in the bunch with some older toddlers or so, you should still have your eyes on the kids). I love that they are all dishwasher safe for sterilizing. We have decided to keep all the Green Toys in a toy box in our main livingroom for 2 reasons. When we have company with children or playmates visiting, they can all just dive into these toys and we don't have the aggravation of my grandson's other toys being dragged out with multiple pieces, and those are not all small child safe, and we can not just throw them in the dishwasher afterwards as we can these. These are literally worry free toys when children are visiting (other than the aforementioned throwing, or maybe banging over the head, so yes you still must parent as we should be anyway). Second, after dinner, when there is just a small window of time for bath and playtime before bed, these are hassle free and the only toys we let him drag out because they are simple and easy pickup. BONUS, they are MADE IN THE USA, and of completely recycled materials. I have not seen that many quality toys like these other than ones made in the 1940's or so, where good craftsmanship (as these are) mattered, even in a toy. We have at least 2 dozen of these toys and they have become an awesome gift item especially when they go on sale, which is often. They are literally the PERFECT toys!

Great toy and non toxic!
Amazing toy set for 1 year old! Good for education on shapes and placing, my baby learned how to do it very quickly. Love that brand is non toxic and made with recycled plastic ensuring safety for my baby since she still puts a lot of stuff in her mouth. Would deff recommend this toy for ages 6 months plus

The best shape sorter on the market
This is my 3rd shape sorter. The first one made by Tupperware was the same design I had as a kid. It broke very soon after I purchased it, when the internal band gave away. The second one made by Fisher Price was just not a good design. The top was too easy to take off and my daughter would just open it rather than sort the shapes. The Green Toys sorter is great for several reasons. The first is, it isn't easy for a toddler to remove the lid. In order to take the top off you have to twist and then pull up while holding the bottom. This thing is also super sturdy; the plastic is the strongest of any toy I've purchased. The second is that it's made in the USA, which means I don't have to wonder if there's lead in the paint. Which is a concern I have, because my daughter puts everything in her mouth and for some reason sorting shapes are her favorite things to chew on. The last thing I love is that the plastic is made from 100% recycled milk bottles, so I can feel good about not creating more waste.

Love green toys
Let's forget all the scientific developmental jargon and just admit that this toy is pure fun! Of course I like the fact that it is environmentally friendly and very well-made. But there's so much that a young child can do with it, besides putting the shapes in the holes. Did you know that it will spin like a top, either together or in halves? Or that you can let your child use one of the halves to gather the shapes, pretend it's a boat, or even a helmet? And I love, love, love, the fact that it doesn't beep, sing, or make any other annoying noise. And when your child picks it up to see what sound it makes, it acts as a rattle! My nine-month-old granddaughter and I just spent almost an hour playing with this toy. Amazing! Most toys she spends a few minutes with and then moves onto the next.

I wanted to love this toy!
I really wanted to love this toy! I bought it myself for baby’ First Christmas. We received two other sorters as gifts. I didn’t even take the others out of their packaging until weeks after Christmas. This one is harder for a young baby to play with. The shapes are along the edges of the saucer so it can be hard to put in two pieces in a row. Also, the saucer shape of the toy makes it tip when trying to put a piece in. I think this toy will be better with an older baby/toddler that can stabilize the toy and is more coordinated when putting the pieces in. It will also be easier for an older child to take apart the saucer and put it back together. For a younger baby (6-month-olds to ??), it is a little too hard. We have not gotten to a good age for this toy, so I don’t know when we will be able to use it more. If you are buying for an older baby/toddler it is a solid toy made from recycled materials here in the USA. I do like that there are two of each shape. We use the shapes with the Fisher Price shapes to build towers. My baby has gotten more use from the Fisher Price My First Blocks, but I am holding out hope that this one will be used when baby is older. Update: every child is different, but mine was able to start really playing with this between 12 and 16 months. By that I mean that she started putting shapes into the correct openings, but she still needs help sometimes to stabilize it. She started putting the two pieces of the space ship together, but not twisting them shut. When she was younger she would carry it around and shake it to make sound. We then started putting the two side of the space ship on the floor like a puzzle. Edit: I don’t remember the exact age my child was able to use this as intended but it was somewhere around 18 months. She is able to steady it with one hand and put the pieces in with the other. She is also able to open and close it. I am going to give it another star. If it worked for the advertised age range, I would give it 5 stars. If you are getting this for an older child, it is a nice toy.

Awesome shape sorter
Although my 9 month old is still too young to know the shapes and successfully use this toy, he still enjoys handling the shapes and shifting the container for them around. He also likes to hold onto a shape and mouth it while his diaper is being changed. He has more interest in this sorter than the Fisher Price bucket one. The container locks into place nicely. This seems to be a better version of the classic Tupperware made sorting ball (the old red & blue ones). I love that this is made from recycled plastic and they do not use harsh dyes. This gives me peace of mind for the pieces constantly in my little one's mouth. My cousin's 4 year old was also interested in this. He liked to clap the two halves of the container together. All in all, this is a great basic toy to have.

Wonderful toy!!
I, and my 8 month old daughter, love this toy. It is well-made, and is from recycled materials. It's made in America, is non-toxic and PVC, phthalate, and BPA-free. Those things alone sold me, but it is also very sturdy, has cute colors, and the pieces have a nice, smooth feel to them. Right now, she just likes to shake it around and chew on the pieces, but I will definitely be buying more toys from this company. Great product that you can really feel good about. We also have one of the teethers, and it's wonderful too. These toys are worth the few extra dollars, for sure.

PERFECT!!!
I ordered this for my 9 mo nephew as a Christmas gift with Stacking Cups and My First Keys toys from Green Toys. Amazon would not ship it to a PO Box for some reason so I got them sent to me and then I mailed it myself. I have to say, when I opened the box, I was very assured that these toys would be wonderful! They looked durable and safe. Most importantly, I like knowing they are made in the US, made from 100% recycled materials, have no poisons or coatings. This is important because at his age, EVERYTHING first goes into his mouth!! Too bad I didn't know about this brand when my kids were babies. Don't hesitate, get this for your teething baby!! I had something similar for my kids when they were babies, but no as function or well built as this.
