Math Video Tutor: Fractions Thru Algebra [DVD]

Has Helped Me
I have always had problems struggling with math--even now that I am taking college courses my instructors tend to move on a little to quick for me to pick up all the concepts. What I liked about this DVD is the step by step instruction as I am more of a visual learner. I also enjoyed having worksheets that while not included on this DVD comes as an option on a separate DVD for practice. There were a few instances where the instructor misspelled words or did a few problems incorrectly--which did not bother me as my past instructors in this subject have done the same--I just sort of chuckled. This DVD is worth your investment, especially if you don't have enough money or time to sit in with a tutor. Really, this has helped me SO much!

It's Ok.
I didn't know what to expect when I purchased the math video tutor as I had never purchased any kind of math help like this. First I watched the parts of the math that I knew fairly well to see how I liked his teaching methods. That was fine. I understood him well and teaching from the white board was really no problem.I then watched parts that I did not quite understand. As far as I could see he didn't do any of the very difficult problems only the easy to moderate.I can honestly say that I didn't really get taught anything new nor did he help me with something I thought was difficult. I had to end up using many tutors, whoever was available, to finally get some difficult polynomials that I had problems with.I get very frustrated with tutors and this video did not frustrate me except for when I was trying to look for something in particular, I would end up giving up because it took too much time. That was the thing I liked least was looking for things because it is the more difficult problems that I have trouble with.I am now in Alegbra 2 and not doing well so I tried another method, an online alegebra help which costs per month. That is not fairing well because they don't have my book so they have a standard book which also only has easy problems to moderate and they leave the most difficult problems out.So, here I am today, buying the 2nd in his series and hoping that I could use it. PS I tried alegbra for dummies too and I didn't like that one.So, I gave an ok rating because that is what I thought of the first one. I read the reccomendations on the 2nd one and they are much better so I will give it a try.

Thank you Jason!
Jason I want to thank you for being my math teacher. You are AWESOME! I am enrolled in taking an "Industrial Hygiene" class; it involves measuring vapor/dust concentrations and finding time weighted averages. After watching you on (Math Tutor-Conversions) I was very impressed; your positive demeanor; professionalism and confidence calms me and enables me to learn. I just ordered 4 more of your DVD's. It's official Jason! you are my private math teacher. I feel your someone who has mastered math (obviously) and wants everyone else to know...it ain't hard, you can do this! After watching the first DVD I now get it! I wish you were around when I was learning math in and High school I was stinking in my "Industrial Hygiene" class, so I sought out a professional math tutor; Stephanie, whom I am very grateful for. I needed her because my math skills stink and the highest level of math I took in H.S was Algebra II. Your DVD's are now supplementing her lessons; lets face it I have to pay Stephanie by the hour...your cost is much more reasonable and I can learn at the convenience of whenever I feel like it. I am 46 years old and received my "Applied Science" associates degree in 2001. Because of your DVD's I am now going for my bachelors because I am not afraid or "dread" math anymore. I feel empowered. Your a genius!!! For the rest of us that never "got" math...Keep those DVD's coming! Is there a website where we can give you direct feedback or suggestions on other classes? Sincerely. One of your biggest fansLaura

Best money ever spent. Seriously.
I'm 40 years old, and going back to college. I cried my way through Algebra in high school, and only passed the class by cheating off my best friend. The prospect of learning Algebra (for the first time) kept me from entering college and pursuing any future goals; I was terrified and honestly DID NOT think I could do it. Out of desperation, I ordered the Math Video Tutor based on the reviews I read here. This DVD literally changed my life within 3 WEEKS. I received it on April 18th and today (May 11th) tested at COLLEGE ALGEBRA level on the Compass Placement Test!!! I truly knew nothing before I got this video, but spent time watching it and taking notes. The best part about it is that it is not a lecture; Jason keeps working problems over and over until it is clear. It is just his voice, his arm and a dry erase board, which I loved. I do not need any flashy videography to distract me. I learned so much, so fast and will forever be grateful for this video. I cannot recommend it highly enough and am getting ready to order the next in this series to make sure I make it through my College Algebra class with flying colors!! I still cannot believe how much I learned in such a short time. During the test, I kept hearing Jason's calm voice saying, "just do what you know and see where that takes you". Well, it took me further than I thought I'd be able to go just 3 weeks ago. I feel like I can do anything now!!
