Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Birch Bark Extract Sulfate-Free Shampoo, 12.2 Fluid Ounce

I love the scent of this shampoo, it has a clean and fresh fragrance and cleans the hair well. I used to buy this particular shampoo at our local grocery stores, but now this scent is discontinued. I found it here on Amazon, but at triple the price that I used to pay, while buying locally.

As I've aged my hair has thinned and I've developed a sulfate sensitivity - this shampoo has helped my hair grow back and made my scalp less itchy. The scent is very mild and doesn't even bother my husband's allergies - Win Win Win!! I dread the day they change the formula...!!

The scent is really nice, woodsy and earthy. But it didn't clean my super oily hair as well as I would have liked.

Smells amazing and it leaves my hair so soft. I wish there was a body wash that had this same scent. I bought this to repair my hair after the OGX brand (currently a class action lawsuit against this company) made by hair break off and fall out. Been using this for a few weeks and noticed a huge improvement already. Highly recommend.

After several weeks of daily use, this shampoo builds up and leaves my hair (and my husband's) dull, sticky and limp. It looks as if our hair is unwashed even though we've just shampooed. The smell is amazing though, and the lather is rich, and I like that it's on the EWG list as a very safe and eco-friendly option. We'll definitely try another formulation of the same brand.

I must have a dozen other shampoos in my cupboard that I bought specifically because of my very itchy scalp. I would probably never have bought this shampoo because it says it's for colour treated hair - and I don't colour my hair, so why bother? Anyway, I received several samples of this shampoo and thought I would just give it a try because what harm could it do? Well, it has answered the question of what to do about my itchy scalp. After the very first time using it, my itchy scalp has disappeared. I have no idea why, but I was very happy. I used up all the samples and it never changed. So I bought the bottle from Amazon and continue to use it very happily! I must also add that it makes my hair very shiny.

Works well like any other Herbal Essences product.Pros:+ zero parabens, no gluten (really though?)+ good price+ pH balanced is nice+ smells good, but not amazing; not enough coconut in here (not enough for me!)+ nice and lightweight, washes out easily+ bottle design is good, can stand on end but a bit tipsyCons:- I really have nothing to complain about hereIt's good, works well.I would highly recommend. When it arrived, although it has been sealed in the plastic bag wrapping that Amazon has put it in (for items without a box I think?), I noticed right away that shampoo was leaking from the top and the entire bottle was just covered in a thin layer of slimy shampoo, especially the cap. I've been buying the SAME brand of shampoo (different scents) for a long time and this is the first time it has ever happened. Makes me worried that it might be used? Unlikely, but it's going on my body when I'm showering so there is a concern.The scent of the shampoo itself is EXTREMELY strong. I mean, like, it assaults your nose smelling like walking into a sleazy club where all the guys are wearing satin shirts and gold chains...it's straight up cheap men's cologne. Initially, I did like the scent but it's too overwhelming perfumey the more I use it. Would not recommend if you like natural scents like citrus or floral.Despite the nasty leak and the crazy smell, the shampoo formula is quite nice. It left my hair pretty soft afterwards, but it's not any different from the White Ginger shampoo or Rose shampoo from the same Herbal Essences Bio Renew line. I don't feel like this did anything different for my hair after almost a week of use.TL;DR decent shampoo. moisturizing. smell too strong. leaked at the top.
