Unbelievably well-designed, clean, easy to use, and really works
If Apple made mousetraps, this would be it. Not only does it work without the mess and smell of bait or the dangers of poison, it is attractive, extremely easy to use, and lasts for years. The smoked plastic top allows you to see if mice are inside, but obscures them enough not to be obvious. It sits snuggly against walls or other vertical surfaces, and is low enough to slip under furniture or junk in a basement. I often set mine on top of a basement wall. The smoked lid is secure, yet snaps off to empty without trouble. I have used my trap for more than four years, and the two ingenious spring up doors keep working and working like new. The "holding area" for the mice has air slots and is generous enough for several mice. The little critters are likely to relieve themselves in the trap, so you should wash or rinse it clean and air dry it or wipe with a paper towel before putting it back into place. The plastic rinses clean quickly and easily. From a mouse's point of view, the little tunnel they see as they approach this trap must seem irresistibly safe and secure. I have put this trap and a more conventional baited trap in the same area, and it is this one that catches the mice. Also, if I see a mouse scurrying along a baseboard in another location, I can pick up this trap, set it a little bit in front of him, and kind of round him up or direct him toward it (maybe with a piece of cardboard). He will go right in.You do not have to touch the mice to empty the trap. As another reviewer said, do remember to check the trap once or twice a day, and, when you are letting the mice out or otherwise emptying it, make sure no little ones are hiding under the door/floor mechanism. All in all, this is an attractive, very well designed, simple, nicely constructed, easy to use device that performs as promised and is an excellent value.

this way is best, its safe for mice and you can let them go
past three days i caught 3 mice, what i found from using is put small bit of cheese at end of each ramp, then i put some kitchen roll inside with some cheese so when i to clean out its handy. mice usually in the press where we store stuff and caught 3, this methd works well. I find this cather well ventilated which is good. Also easy to wash out using some disinfectaant, first i put late gloves on and clean up any mess with tissue, i put some disinfectant n the tray and hold over the toilet then pur boiling water in it and water runs out of vents and disinfectant. What i found is to make sure you dry the trap doors because they will stay stuck down when mouse enters. I tried lots of ways to cathc mice and killing them in traps may work and maybe quick way but not nice when things go wrong and it does and they not killed properly, this way is best, its safe for mice and you can let them go, they only hungry and you need to get them out of your home this is best methd i have found. Make sure check it each day i check few times just make sure thye dont go longer than 10 hours but like i said this product is well ventilated, i like the product that much i made video and if anybody problem with mice i order from you for them so they caught live. We once had a smell in house and it was dead mouse in trap, so this way is cleaner and you will actually check this trap and no need for traps al over the place, Best place to leave is where you see their droppings, in my home they where in the downstairs understairs press near the kitchen and nesting, i cleaned out lots dropping and this trap has caught them easily and humane way !

Worked like a charm
My co-worker scoffed at me for getting a humane trap saying she had tried "them" and they didn't work. Well, my TomCat worked just fine. I caught a vole in my garage the first night out and four more since. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because it is a little hard to tell if you've caught something if it is hiding under the ramp without opening it. However, I had caught voles who don't like light. Maybe a mouse wouldn't do that. I would make one suggestion to others catching critters. Go light on the peanut butter. I had one casualty who, of course was crammed up under a ramp that I think I accidentally killed with too much of the stuff. When I pulled it out it pooped peanut butter. Lesson learned.

Will catch the mice
I got one of these several years ago and was the best live trap I had used and I have tried several. Could not find them local so got a couple more online. Living in the country and mice go together and I see no reason to kill them when they only do what comes natural. Would recommend but make sure to check them daily as if left alone for a few days, the mouse will likely die and you will be left with that wonderful smell to remind you.Update: Discovered that I apparently have super mice. They are starting to eat the plastic ramps and one mouse ate away half of one of the ramps in one nite to escape. Time to go to the metal version. Make sure and get one with the clear lid so you can see if it has got residents.

I've tried a few versions, but this one works ...
I've tried a few versions, but this one works for me. The metal version doesn't work since the mice are too afraid of the sharp edges to go in the trap. The only drawback to this plastic version is that the mice tend to chew along the left and right edges trying to get out so eventually the hole will be big enough for them to escape. I usually seal the hole along the left and right edges with duct tape. For some reason, the mice don't chew on the duct tape, but if they do, you can always replace the duct tape. Sometimes, I need to put a dab of peanut butter near the middle of the left and right bridges to lure the mice into the trap more.

These break after one use. Don't buy from Amazon! Terrible.

Gotta Catch 'em!
nice traps for catching lots of mice. only issue with these is that the mice can chew their way out of one of the side grills. recently reordered and like the new design that eliminates the above problem

Effective but you must be diligent!
I had my doubts that I could catch mice without some sort of food to lure them but this trap really does catch mice without the need for any kind of food! Just have to find a suitable place to leave it and it catches mice for you.HOWEVER...I managed to catch 4 mice, 2 at a time on two separate days but you MUST empty them out quickly as we found with each time a mouse was caught it started to chew away at the plastic overnight so even though we let the mice go down the local park, the trap was getting weaker because of the damage. The third time we caught a mouse, it literally had chewed it's way out and escaped. This trap works BUT in the space between us going to bed and waking up, those little teeth worked right through the plastic so you need to KEEP checking the trap, through the night too unless you want 'the great escape' like we experienced. Overall this is a great little trap but be aware that mice can and DO chew through the plastic.

Does what it says on the box
The short story is that it works as it says it does. I don’t know how it would cope with lots of mice at once, but for my needs it was more than enough. It says not to bait on the box, - I haven’t had much luck with that approach personally, so I used some peanut butter to speed up the process, and by the morning the mouse was caught. If you’re concerned about mice chewing through plastic, like some have experienced, - I haven’t had this problem but recommend being proactive and emptying the trap first thing.[update] I have now had multiple success rate with this trap, so wanted to update my review to reflect this. Still using bait as additional guarantee.
