Quality, affordable all purpose fixed blade knife
I have owned several of the smaller "sharpfinger" skinning knives over the years and always found them to be good quality, functional, and a real bargain. After ordering and receiving the larger "deer-slayer" version I was very pleasantly surprised. It arrived with arm shaving sharpness and a nice fit and finish. The sheath is of surprisingly good quality and construction. Considering the price point and quality, for a great design, balance, and functionality, I can't see why anyone could ask for more at this price. I have many much more expensive fixed blade "skinners" but I doubt you can find a better tool for the price.

good
This is a very good quality knife for the price, much better quality than 10 years ago. Made in China, but it is good. It stays sharp for a long time and is easy to sharpen.

PRETTY GOOD KNIFE FOT THE MONEY
For the money, this is a decent knife. It's a fairly large piece, but feels good in the hand and is not at all heavy or cumbersome. I feel that it's pretty light in weight for its size. The love the geometry of this full tang blade. The gimping feels very good, as does the lower guard. The lines, angles and grinds are all nice, and the handle to tang fit is equally pleasing. The knife arrived razor sharp, shaving hairs from my arm with absolutely no effort. The tip is quite pointed and will pierce easily, and the finish is uniform and smooth. Adding to an already fine piece is the sheath. It is well made and solid. I was not expecting a sheath this nice. I could easily see it selling for $30 or more, making the package a very nice deal. This company has been around a long time, and the lifetime warranty is an added bonus. This knife is absolutely worth the $42 I paid. I believe that value is the sum of an item's cost, quality, and practicality. That said, I feel this knife is a good value. I am pleased with this purchase and would certainly do so again. Stay safe out there, and God bless!

Nice knife for a low price
This is a pretty nice knife with a nice leather sheath. It came pretty sharp but after running it through my work sharp sharpener, now it’s sticky sharp lol. Very comfortable handle and a solid feeling full tang toughness. Can’t wait to put this knife through a good weekend test with cutting steaks, veggies, cheese, salami some lite whittling. Going to use and abuse it for couple weeks then see how the sharpening goes from a very dull blade.

Worth what you pay for this Schrade Deerslayer
Great knife for low cost and it does sharpen up to a razors edge if you use the right method. I can't believe what you get for the price a nice sheath as well made of leather. If I was just starting out and needed a great all around hunting knife this would do most of what you buy it for. I have about three different schrades and they all were very economical to get and all sharpen up very nice. Whats more is you don't have to spend a lot to get them. I have found several very nice knives that were made in china and they are outstanding. You can't lump all products in and label them as junk when you find some great buys for peanuts.

Outstanding Product
The experts have given Shrade Company's new knives a poor rating over the older ones. If this is an example then experts should look again. Blade clean, strong and extremely sharp in fact shaved a spot on my arm. Handle strong and knife straight and strong. A good looking and strong leather sheath. A little big for field dressing, but will work fine. Very happy with this knife's quality and cost.

Damn great knife.
Grew up with a knife similar to this and was eager to receive this one for Christmas 2025. Nice sheath, sharp edge and lasting construction. Feels amazing in your hand and grips well while using. Versatile in the kitchen as well as in the field. Functions perfect with wild game and the perfect size for kitchen use.

Tremendous Knife for the Price
Purchased this knife as a gift for a Deer Hunter friend then another for myself after I saw what a great knife it is. It's an excellent Value. For the price I didn't expect as much as I got. The knife is well balanced, light to carry, and not so bulky or heavy to carry. The leather sheath is thick leather and very well made. The blade is sharp and seems to hold an edge very well. The sheath is actually a little darker than the image shows and I like that deeper reddish brown color. Schrade of course is an old name and they make many different knives. The knife is an excellent value for less than $25.
