Foamie Shampoo Bar, Aloe - Moisturising for Dry Hair - Plastic-Free, pH-Balanced, Soap-Free, No Nasties, Vegan - Perfect for Travel

I will start with the pluses - the shampoo bar comes beautifully packaged, two lots of cardboard sleeves (we ARE being eco-friendly here, aren't we?) and the smell is strong and pretty - think "Laura Ashley" crossed with your Grannie's handbag, that's the smell we are talking about..I purchased the Hibiscus, a light 'girly' pink.Pleasantly shaped and ideal for holding in your wet hand, with a small cord so that you can hang it up following use.Now comes to the part that confused me..It IS called FOAMIE isn't it?Well, that's exactly what it does not do, FOAM.Despite my best attempts to get a good lather going, I failed miserably.All I managed was a wishy-washy milky pink liquid with the slightest of bubble residue.I actually had to double check that I hadn't ordered a bar of conditioner instead of shampoo!!I have long hair, approximately 20" in length, and by the time I had worked hard to coat my hair with this product, rolling it round and round in my hand and down my dripping wet hair, I was tired out.I am used to a well known high-street brand of shampoo bar, which instantly foams into a rich lather, meaning that I have to use far less and works far quicker, even with long hair.I was hoping for something of at least similar quality (definitely not cheaper though, this is not an inexpensive product) and for me, I was disappointed.I will not be buying FOAMIE again, unless I had a faulty bar and its 'foaminess' was broken! :)

Awful, just awful. Whoever has provided 5 stars has been paid or given the item for free. All I read was positive reviews, surely I'm not the only one- or am I just the one bothering!!? I was really looking forward to using this, and I'd done a fair bit of research before choosing this one over the Lush version, and others. I have below shoulder length hair, blonde. I used it 3 separate times- as I read you need to use a few times to get used to it.Firstly, I had to vigorously rub it between my hands to get any 'foam'- it's just like a normal bar of soap, no foam, just soap.- dont get too excited.Positives, smells fabulous- in the box, that's it, left no smell at all on my hair.Negatives, far outweighed the positives, was difficult to apply. I tried to apply it direct to hair and via my hands, neither made any difference.I also ensured I rinsed my hair afterwards as not to leave any of the shampoo in, again no difference. It left my hair greasy (really greasy) and dull.It's an expensive item, which is supposed to be one of the best on the market- cant be much of a market.I really was really disappointed, has gone in the bin and in my view was a total waste of money. If this is where we are with shampoo bars, then I'm going to wait another 5 years!!!Foamie, no foolie!!!

I love the product it smells amazing and washes my hair really well. Just a shame that for a plastic free product amazon sent it in a plastic Jiffy bag.

The first few days were a bit odd as it doesn’t feel like regular bottled shampoo. But after using for about a year now, my hair definitely feels healthier, softer and i prefer using it. It doesn’t foam like regular bottle products, but I suspect that’s down to the lack of chemicals. I have thick wiry hair and I’ve always found it difficult to find hair care that doesn’t dry my hair out, so i am really happy to have found Foamie. It does taking a bit of getting used to initially but it’s totally worth it. Also really handy for travel!

This is my first experience of a shampoo bar as we try and go plastic free in the bathroom. The product is OK. It's certainly very foamy but my hair doesn't feel completely clean and it's very flat and dirty by the end of my working day, which is not the case with conventional shampoo. My wife has longer, thicker hair and she struggles to get enough foam to clean her hair at all.We won't go back to the bottle but I don't think I'd buy this one again.

Great plastic-free alternative to normal shampoo. As other comments have said I found it a little difficult to get the bar to lather, but with a little effort and by rubbing it against my hair with plenty of water it was okay. I did, however, purchase a small mesh bag to put the bar in and this helps it lather much more quickly. It smells great!

New fave bar and only 4 stars due to the fact that it doesn't foam a lot! The irony lolIt does clean ym hair really well and it is down to my waist, still leaves it fully cleaned and if anything I've noticed I can go longer between washed.Doesn't feel like it strips my hair of too much oil but does something magical to keep just enough to have my hair happy for longer.The only thing that took getting used to was the texture of the vmbar. It's solid like a hand soap and it feels like it slightly drags on the hair if you apply direct, so i would be cautio9of using too much pressure when working into the hair.Doesn't foam a lot but does a fab job so don't let that put you off! The conditioner bar foams up loads so you get that super clean end feeling which is nice after the wacmxy feeling of the shampoo bar. I would definitely buy together again.

Have used daily for a week and my hair (flyaway and fine) is in perfect condition (no need for a conditioner). Thoroughly recommend and you are not using any plastic bottles, environmentally friendly.
