Good DIY replacement to save money.
This is relatively easy to install. If your thumb latch breaks or is about to go, I recommend getting a new one. Important Tip: If you have replaced it more than once, it may not be the latch itself. The door frame has a pin (about as wide as a medium nail) sticking out about 2 cm or 3/4 inch. It is across from the bottom of the latch and the two meet when the door is closed. This pin pushes in some kind of spring mounted metal button on the bottom of this latch. Metal on metal, this button eventually gets worn down (like dented). My replacement latch was still sticking a bit, which meant it would eventually fail like the previous one. After playing with it, I realized the pin was the issue as well. As a quick fix, I found a small electrical connector cap or cap from a small dispenser (like a glue bottle tip cap) that wasn't too long or wide, so it fit snuggly on the pin and still was not too big for the button area. I fitted the plastic cap with epoxy onto the pin on the door frame. It extended the pin several more millimeters so that the pin fully depressed the button on the latch. This now gave the latch full and free movement without any sticking as it turned. So far, it is working perfectly and I do not expect to have to replace the latch mechanism again. You may find something else that works to extend the pin, but this is what I had on hand for free. Wish I figured it out the first time.

Perfect replacement, excellent quality
Have an older Anderson sliding glass door (circa 2006 or so), and this was the perfect replacement, 5 minutes to take off the old one, put on the new one, fit and finish is perfect, very solid, sturdy, works perfectly!

Great exact fit OEM replacement thumb latch!
Exact fit OEM replacement for my sliding door thumb latch lock that had gotten internally "loose" after ten years of multiple daily use. It literally took two minutes to uninstall the old one and replace it with this new one. Hopefully this one lasts another ten years :) UPDATE: I have had to buy additional of the exact fit OEM replacements about every 15-24 months. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to install so no big deal but the metal "internals" seem to be a bit "softer" and the mechanism ends up becoming loose with frequent daily use 365/24/7 since it is the way we let our dog out multiple times a day. Based on this fact, my guess is that this metal fatigue problem starts occurring between 2500-3000 uses of the thumb latch which is used to ensure my sliding door fits snuggly into/against the door frame to make a tight gasket seal. The metal fatigue problem is gradual and gives indication when I have to begin making small adjustments to the door latch mechanism so use of this thumb latch keeps a tight fit against the gasket. Thus, I now keep a spare new replacement in the kitchen drawer next to this sliding door so I can make a quick fix whenever warranted. Reduced my Product Rating from 5 Stars to 4 Stars to reflect the above. With that said, this is still the best product to use if you have such a sliding Andersen Door. Just keep a spare thumb latch on hand and all will be good.

Our 53 year old door latch finally broke and this part, while a bit different in appearance (the latch handle is larger and it is white, not aluminium), fit perfectly. It replaced another Andersen door latch and I used the screw/bolt hole distance to determine fit and it was perfect.
