Was supposed to be for the kids...but...
We lost this a year ago before a birthday and found it a while later. The kids stopped playing the game, so I figured I'd use it on my walks with my wife. This thing is both stupid and awesome. Removing the band to use the charger makes me think I'm going to break it every time. I haven't yet, so it's durable, but you have to pull hard and at an angle. Plugging it into the charger is tricky, because it wiggles around, but you figure it out. Using the interface is simple and stupid. Only one side of the screen recognizes touch, so even if the UI shows a checkbox on the other side, only the one side will care if you're touching it. You have to touch and hold to get to the settings page (versus just a touch to turn it on). When on the setting page, you need to tap on each screen to move to the next screen, or press and hold to toggle the setting on or off. This isn't really intuitive at first, and you aren't sure what you are turning on or off. You want vibration off, as it is noisy. You want to turn on spinning the stops, catching pokemon, and catching new pokemon. It's not easy connecting to the phone at first (or obvious), but once you do it once it works well afterwards. Wearing the device is a bit of a pain if you want to cross your arms, and you frequently can start up the settings, and turn off various settings, because the touch sensor is so sensitive. All this sounds like criticism, but the fact is that it is a simple device that gives you the option to spin stops and catch pokemon when you're not paying attention. That's cool and useful. It's allowed me to catch a ton of stuff, and collect a lot of items, when I'd otherwise be distracted. THAT BEING SAID, it's important to know what it actually does. Every few seconds, it will try to do about 3 actions. Whether those actions are successful or not, it doesn't matter. There is a pause, and then a few more actions. I share this because if you're walking through a park, you may not spin every stop and clear every pokemon, because you'll be out of range before it has time to rotate through everything. If there are no pokemon, you'll spin stops easily and quickly. If there are pokemon, it tries to catch those first before the stops, so spinning those can be your job while it tries to catch the pokemon. It ONLY uses your regular balls, and stops trying when you're out. It will try to spin stops, but obviously stops when your bag is full. I've ended up with a ton of blue and black balls and zero red ones...making the device a bit worthless until I restock, but at least it helps with spinning stops (and works if you drive around 25mph) The throws are with basic balls, and basic stats of catching or not. A ton of things run away. You won't catch everything...but that's okay. I open the game and find that I've picked up shinies and tons of stuff I otherwise wouldn't have caught. It only works when the game is running on your phone, but your phone screen can be off and it can be in your pocket. It is important to note that some apps will terminate the game (like Maps or your camera), so if you're using those apps, you may find you aren't catching anything. The device turns off after 30-45 minutes, even if it has power left, so you just have to reconnect it (takes maybe 10 seconds), which is fine to me. This is a good purchase. It's throttled and measured to not be too overpowered...but as long as you understand that, and how it works, it's a great investment if you enjoy the game. If nothing else, it allows you to gain the benefit of being in parks and public areas, when you're not allowed/advised to be looking at your phone and throwing pokeballs...

Loved the Classic, Love this more!
I had the Classic for 8 or so years and it finally died on me. Just wouldn't charge, and the weird USB gadget it had to charge always annoyed me because I would lose it sometimes and be unable to charge it. This, while I'm worried about the USB bit being fragile and snapping one day, I am much happier to charge it directly via USB now. The only issue I've had was one time it told me that my bag was full, when it was not, and I couldn't collect items in POGO for a bit. I reset it, the game, my phone, and charged it again and that fixed whatever the issue was. I'm not a fan of the app being through a browser, as I liked the Gotcha app and that worked perfectly fine. It takes a few tries to get connected to the browser-app, and there's no explanation for if a button being highlighted means the feature is on or off on the gotcha. But I had decided if it didn't need updates, I was fine with changing the options manually (holding down the touch sensor to change what each feature does.)

Queue The Sad Pokemon Music.
Please read the updates as it's not completely useless now!! It was 2 hours of fun. Then it started getting lazy and disconnecting at random. Then the screen went dead. There are now lots of scratches on the screen, and all I can think is my Haines brand hooded sweater was scratching to the plastic. Pretty cheap if you ask me. Regardless, after I put it on the charger it connects for a while, will spin a pokestop, but doesn't auto catch. The screen still does not display anything. The Application no longer connects to the device. It appears to already be problematic and dying. $50 for 2 hours of fun, and then hours of troubleshooting, missed Pokémon, and Sadness. If advise you to pass on this one. Sorry, it started very well, but this was not a good experience overall. UPDATE: I got the app to work. Get this, close all apps, turn off Bluetooth, then the device magically connects to the app; with Bluetooth disabled on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra... So, that's a bit sketchy in the security department in my opinion. I apparently can touch the screen to get to settings, but I still have no display. I tried the unplug / replug 10 or more times to reset, which did nothing. I'm open to suggestions. What time is it? Who knows now. Ha, just kidding. Still having a sucky experience though, although I've improved the situation a bit. I hope this info helps someone out there. Update 2: ok, I let the battery die out completely. During that time I did have it vibrating, which it does once in a while but seems inconsistent. Then, after completely draining the battery and then fully recharging the device, I have the screen working. That said the colors are all kinds of messed up now. Please see the photos, they are trippy. It IS catching pokemon now at its expected 1-standard-ball-throw-first-time-only-low-rate, but that's not the fault of the product, that's the game itself. So, believe it or not the situation is improving, kind-of. Being able to Auto-spin poke stops while driving 20mph is a great bonus, so at least I can do that.

Great Gadget if you LOVE Pokemon Go!!
The Got-cha is a wonderful device as long as it stays connected to your phone. I had to learn that keeping the Got-cha on my left hand and my phone in my right pocket was sometimes too far for it to stay connected and it would continuously get disconnected. I also found that any battery life on the Got-cha less than 25% basically means that you are going to keep getting disconnected as well. The face of the device is EXTREMELY prone to scratching, so I wouldn't expect it to remain pristine for too long; for me, it was severely scratched after only a 3 uses and I wasn't doing anything overly active. I have purchased 3 devices so far and had to return 1 as the screen went out. I truly enjoy the device and it makes playing Pokemon Go so much more entertaining; if I didn't have the one device go out on me after just two weeks, I would have rated the device a 5 star. I am going to see how the others do and if they hold up, I am going to assume the first one I got that broke was an anomaly.

My experience....
I was doubtful about buying this but honestly it’s a great buy. I work full time so I don’t have time to be playing and it functions perfectly. Catches Pokémon for me as well as spinning stops. Some things I want to address 1) no it’s not a fool proof catch every time but it’s better than not catching anything period when I can’t use my phone 2) connectivity it will stay connected for probably 30+ mins and that’s with the app open and if it disconnects took me only a few seconds 3) the charger is weird not gonna lie but just be patient and gentle and it comes off. I can see how people break it so stick to the 45 degree angle pull off. Maybe I was the lucky one but haven’t experienced any issues, connected using the app made sure it was updated and synced and works like a charm

Seriously bad luck
UPDATE: 5/26: Finally got one that worked. After a week of usage, here's what I've found. The watch came with the LCD installed UPSIDE-DOWN, which means the top of the screen was facing the red button. The app wouldn't change that option until the device's battery completely drained. Battery life so-so. I managed maybe 4 hours before the battery died from a full charge, which isn't very much to be honest, though with DND and vibration set to off, you'll probably get much more battery life. The device seems to randomly lose its connection to the game, 3 out of the 6 hikes I did, it randomly dropped it's connection to my phone within 20-30 minutes, other times it'll stay connected the entire time. The charge method is terrible, I feel like I'm going to break the device with how they expect you to get to the charge port. I don't like that there is no way for the screen to stay on, but also understand there really isn't anything to see, but a pedometer would be nice or something, maybe even a clock. Managed to complete the "catch 400 pokemon" task in about 7 days, but I kept running out of pokeballs so that slowed me down a lot. Unfortunately the game itself is programmed to ONLY use basic pokeballs, and ignore Great or Ultra balls, so there are quite a lot of escapes and you lose higher-leveled pokemon (but shinies are 100% catch so this is a good way to farm shinies); so it's not the devices fault in that, but rather Nintendo and Niantic for restricting the devices to the worst ball you can get. (honestly, it's probably a cash-grab, because you'll use up more pokeballs and then will have to PURCHASE more from their store) Original review: I have the original Got-cha and it worked great, but after all the years, it's finally giving up and not working with my new phone. I went and got the Evolved version because it's bigger and has more options. Unfortunately I've had a string of bad luck. The first unit I got wouldn't charge; I plug it in, it'd show the charging animation for 1 second then stop charging. I turn it on and it runs for 5 seconds and then the battery died. Returned and got another one. This one was clearly USED (Box had damage a previous owner tried to hide, had fingerprints all over the watch face and was DOA, plugged in, nothing. Left it plugged in for an hour, nothing. Tried turning it on- Nothing. Third time's a charm? If not, I'm going to give up on this product entirely; Will update review in a day or two when the last replacement arrives...

This puts the 'Go' back in 'Pokemon Go'
I'm one of those people that likes to play mobile games and do as much as I can without spending anything. Squeezing each perk or special event for everything it can to keep up with the Jones'. However, what that ended up doing was making it tough to enjoy being outside because I knew I -could- be catching something or spinning a stop. Sure, I was outside more - but I was walking slower and staring at my phone as I did it. This little device lets me set it and forget it - and I'm back to jogging with the dog or eating at a restaurant that is in range of a few stops without even once glancing at my phone. I'm back to 'playing' the game instead of 'living' the game. I don't think I could put a price on that, but if I had to, it'd be more than the $35 I shelled out here. As far as reviews on functionality go - it easily lasts a full day of use, successfully hooks up to two phones at the same time, and while sometimes it needs a little reprogramming between uses (just use the app), that's very quick and painless to do. I've used it for about a week and I'd happily recommend it.

Setup is a headache and design is terrible :-(
I was super excited to buy this Go-tcha Evolve because I have been playing Pokemon Go for a long time and wanted to focus more on walking when I went to the park instead of catching Pokemon, but I still want to catch pokemon and spin all the pokestops, I just didn't want it to slow me down anymore. The bracelet itself is fairly cute, it looks like a standard fitness band. Setting it up was HORRIBLE! The app did not work with a phone as modern as mine (which is nearly a year old at this point), so through many YouTube videos and Googling, I did find a UK website that was a workaround, that you could add to your home screen like an app. I thought I was NEVER going to get it to connect to the game! It took a lot of trial and error and a really long time. When it finally connected, though, it worked great. I was able to catch a lot of pokemon and spin pokestops without having to break my stride at the park. I was ready to forgive the set up headache, until it needed to be charged. There is one major design flaw with this device, and that is that there is no charger, you have to pull the bracelet very hard like you're going to break it, and when it pops off, there's a USB output that can charge in any USB outlet. Or so I thought. Maybe I wasn't sure which way to insert it, but I tried both ways and could not get it to charge after the first day. I tried multiple USB chargers to no avail. I think it broke when I was trying to pop it off or when I put it in the charger. Unfortunately, that was the end of my Pokemon Gotcha adventures, so I had to return it because it wouldn't charge or work anymore. Disappointing because it could be a really good device if the design wasn't so poor! Pros: Cute design Worked great once it was connected Cons: Difficult to set up Poor design flaw with the charger Overall, I would not recommend this Go-tcha Evolve to others. It has the potential to be a great device, but the poor design and difficulty setting up make it not worth the hassle.

Game changing.
Brilliant product, loved mine for many years, only reason to replace was that I accidently broke mine by being a careless ape. Absolutely fantastic!! 10/10
