Excellent thermometer. Works great, a charge last a long time so you don’t have to worry about it being ready when you need it. Easy to use, good readout, the display is backlit so it’s easy to see even if you are grilling outdoors in the dark! I bought one for myself and another for my daughter.

Wanted to use this quite a bit before leaving a review. It reads plenty accurate when tested against other thermometers I use while grilling. It automatically turns on when the probe is flipped out and then when used to probe a piece of meat, the temperature stabilizes quickly, within 2-3 seconds most of the time. Then it shuts off automatically when the probe is folded away. The probe is nice and sharp, so poking into a piece of meat hasn't been a problem at all and a quick wipe with a towel is all that's needed to clean. I wanted to see how long the battery lasted, but in my 2+ weeks using the thermometer I haven't even made a dent in the battery life indicator, so I'd say it lasts sufficiently long, as I haven't had to recharge it at all. It's become my go-to thermometer, and I keep it tucked in my pocket when running back and forth between the grill and stove. When used for the grill, or to check on my sous-vide, or checking a piece of meat in the oven it's extremely convenient. One small downside I've noticed is that it's much slower reading down to a temperature rather than reading up. I test all of my thermometers for accuracy in boiling water and in freezing water. When taking this thermometer out of the ice water and into the boiling water, it stabilizes right at 212F in just a couple of seconds. When going from the boiling water back into the ice water it could take 10 seconds or more to settle back in at 32F. I don't see a practical application when this could ever actually be a problem because when used as a grill or meat thermometer you're usually reading up from ambient temp to whatever the meat temp is. I'd also note that it was probably slow because of the huge temp swing (212 down to 32). When checking a piece of meat from the fridge, while the probe was room temperature, the time before it settled was 3-4 seconds, marginally longer than when reading up. Overall this thermometer is really awesome, quick and convenient. And a great price on top of all that. I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

I've bought a number of meat thermometers over the years, mostly from local shops, but I did not know how good a thermometer could be until I bought Inkbird's IHT-1P. Is it the best thermometer in the world? I'm not naive enough to say yes, but for the price point and its functionality it is the best I have found in that range. The fact that is it rechargeable (USB-C) is a major plus. The reading of the temperature is near instant, making monitoring your cook stress free. Even thermometers with probes readings take time usually, but the IHT-1P is super easy to poke and read -- done. Recharging takes about an hour, but the battery itself will last for months (at least it has for me, and I use it 2-3 times a week). The auto-power is nifty as well so the thermometer isn't on when it doesn't need to be. Simply pull the probe open and it's on -- close the probe and it's off. There is a magnet inside the thermometer, making storage optimal (it stays on my knife rack that is magnetic). In conclusion, if you're in the market for a meat thermometer that won't break the bank but does the job really well and quickly, you won't go wrong with the IHT-1P. As said, I am sure there are better thermometers out there. So, if you're an aspiring professional smoker, trying to read temperatures without opening the hood -- this isn't for you, but if you are just trying to check whether or not your fillet is rare or medium rare quickly or the chicken you're cooking is at the right temp -- buy it.

My husband and I use this all the time. It works well and is very good to ensure cooking while preventing over/undercooking. These are pretty accurate too, for example, our medium rare steaks come out as intended.

I’ve been using the Inkbird IHT-1P for both stovetop cooking and grilling on my Weber charcoal grill, and overall, it’s an excellent thermometer. It reads quickly and, based on my testing, seems to be very accurate after comparing with other thermometers and performing an ice/boiling water test... I can trust the temps. One thing to be careful about: the plastic where the metal probe attaches to the swivel point is a bit weak. I accidentally bent the probe slightly to the side while unfolding it, and that small amount of pressure caused the plastic to crack. The good news is that Inkbird’s customer service was fantastic! I sent them pictures of the problem, and they promptly replaced the unit, no hassle. A small design note: the thermometer charges via USB-C, but it doesn’t seem to like USB-C PD ports. It only charges properly when using the included USB-A to USB-C cable. If yours doesn’t light up when plugged in, try that cable before assuming it’s defective. Despite those quirks, I’m very happy with the IHT-1P. It’s fast, accurate, and rechargeable. A solid tool for everyday cooking and grilling. I just hope Inkbird reinforces that hinge area in future versions, or does away with the hinge altogether and turns this into a non-folding version with a probe cover instead.

Finally, a food thermometer that is extremely simple, works as expected, no issue, no hassle. After all this time of using it, the charge is still good. Yes, it is chargible and NO MORE ridiculous, tiny little round batteries that I had to go to the drugstore and try to find. The numbers are easy to read, instantly works and I definitely recommend this product.

I had originally purchased the Inkbird instant digital thermometer Inkbird HET-F001 and recently I purchased their newer generation, the Inkbird IHT-1P. The Inkbird IHT-1P instant digital thermometer is a much better thermometer than the previous generation in so many ways. The response time is a great improvement and I noticed that it typically takes about 4 seconds to settle on a temperature. I live in an area that’s 1,214 feet above sea level. The boiling point for water at this elevation is 209.572 °F. Although I have not calibrated this thermometer yet, my test results were pretty good. Through a special menu, you can calibrate it anywhere from ±0.1 °F/°C increments up to ±5 °F/°C. This is an excellent feature for those that live in areas above with higher elevation. The thermometer is more ergonomic than the previous model, easier to handle and it’s a bit smaller. One thing will stand out as soon as you open it is the new color that’s complemented by an excellent bright display. There is now a dedicated button to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius as opposed to the previous model that had a switch inside the battery compartment and like its predecessor, it has a 10 minute auto shut-off timer. As soon as you extend the probe the thermometer turns on with a nice bright display. As soon as you collapse the probe at 45 degree or less it will turn off which is really nice. I only wish that the probe movement was a bit smoother. The thermometer also comes with a temperature hold button. Press once and it will stop reading and will hold the last read temperature. Press it again and it will resume. I also want to mention that the probe sends a reading every half a second, not that it matters during grilling but I thought I would mention that. This thermometer has two magnets in the back, both are strong and well positioned to hold this thermometer against a metal object in any angle. The new thermometer is also IPx5 waterproof which means it will not get damaged when sprayed/soaked it with a water hose/rain. This thermometer has an internal rechargeable battery that you can charge using the included USB-C cable which is a good selling point in my opinion. Overall, this is an excellent instant thermometer for the money. With all its features and excellent price point I can’t think of a reason not to get one.

This is the 5th one we have ordered as gifts and they are accurate but you need to use care when using it like any fine instrument. If you are crude with the unit it will not last. Great functionality and easy to use. Very easy to read display.

I bought my mother a new stove for Mother's Day, and the first thing she did was roast some lamb... But she was complaining that her old meat probe wasn't working properly. She's getting old, and has always been the clean person for the house, cleaning and washing everything, and I wanted to make her life a little easier in that regard. It's why I got her the easiest to clean range and everything (Which she loved). Ironically, when this came in and she made a pork roast with it she was absolutely beaming saying how much she loved it! She was even happier than she was than when she got her new stove!

Great thermometer that is fast and accurate. Large, easy to read screen and rechargeable via USB with great battery life. Happy to recommend this product.

Reads quick, easy to clean, and I love the magnet on it that makes it easy to stick to sides of my grill. I have recommended it to my friends and will buy again if needed.
