I've been a fan of the Donkey Kong Country game series for years. And being an old school gamer, I cannot adjust to the 360-degree camera work of the newer games. Nintendo's got me again with DK Country Returns. Everything I loved about the original games - side-scrolling, characters, great graphics...plus new additions like playing in the mid- and background of the screen and moving from one to the other...action movie quality levels and challenges...and just loads of more FUN!It's quite possibly the greatest adventure game series ever made. And Donkey Kong Country Returns is just another layer on the righteous cake! Five stars!

My son chose this for his birthday. It was exactly what he wanted.

I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas...had to give it to her early. She absolutely LOVES it. I've played it a few times myself. The graphics are amazing and it is a blast to play. I bought her the guide that is an option and it has helped her tremendously. I highly recommend this game to all ages.

Guide is good to have if you want to find all the puzzle pieces, get advice on how to beat particular enemies and bosses. There is a super guide within the game that you can use if you die a particular number of times in each level. That is just as helpful as a guide for clearing a level because it actually "plays through" and opens the level for you. It doesn't show you the hidden stuff but once you clear a level you can replay and take time to find it on your own. So if you are like me and want to find everything you may want to get the guide. If you are a skilled gamer you probably don't need this so save yourself the $$.

This was a gift for my son who had worked his way through Donkey Kong when it first came out, but now on a different format, he was thrilled to receive it. He has spent plenty of winter days playing this even though it is a remake of a game he has on a previous format.

The old Donkey Kong games were first person walking games in 3 dimensions. This is two-dimensional and very disappointing. I remember the Donkey Kong from Nintendo 64, which involved a delightful 3-dimensional world. This is a throwback to the Donkey Kong arcade games which were 2-dimensional and, in truth, quite boring.

I bought this for my six year old for a couple of reasons. 1 - To expand his vocabulary. 2 - So he can get though his favorite Wii game. It worked on both accounts. Also he taped the attached poster to his bedroom door.

My boy is quite obsessed with Donkey Kong Country Returns and so he was made up when he received this book as a homework-reward.It gives you all the character names, so the game makes more sense. It also tells you where all the puzzle pieces and coins are, so saves the frustration.A bit expensive for what it is, but it's good quality so worth it, and it did come with an A2 poster.

Das Spiel "Donkey Kong Country Returns" macht unheimlich viel Spaß, doch kann auch ganz schön knifflig werden, wenn man alle Buchstaben und Puzzle-Teile sammeln möchte. Ich habe mir das Lösungsbuch zugelegt, da ich zum einen ein Sammler von (guten) Lösungsbüchern bin und zum anderen meine Lieblingsspiele mit allen Facetten und Geheimnissen erleben möchte. Das Lösungsbuch zu Donkey Kong auf der Wii ist von sehr guter Qualität, wie von Prima gewohnt. Es ist traditionell aufgebaut, d.h. am Anfang werden noch kurz ein paar Grundlagen geschaffen, die notwendig sind für das Spiel (Bewegungsmöglichkeiten, Items, etc.). Daran schließt sich der Lösungsweg an. Am Anfang gibt es zu jeder Welt eine Übersichtskarte, dann folgt der Lösungsweg durch die einzelnen Levels.Die einzelnen Levels werden durch eine entsprechende Karte dargestellt, welche durch den Level führt, diese sind jedoch nicht "realitätsnah", sondern im Prinzip recht pragmatisch nachgezeichnet, deshalb auch "nur" 4 Sterne. Die Stellen, an denen es Buchstaben oder Puzzle Teile gibt, sind markiert und es gibt immer noch spezielle Hinweise dazu, wie diese genau zu erhaschen sind. Auch generelle Tips zu kniffligen Stellen oder den Bonus Räumen sind zu finden.Im Anschluss an den Lösungsweg findet man noch die Level zu den Bonus Levels (K) und dem Goldenen Tempel. Zudem sind die freischaltbaren Sachen erläutert und weitere Tips und Hinweise.Wer bei diesem Spiel alles sammeln und freischalten will, ist mit dem Lösungsbuch gut beraten. Es bleibt kein Buchstabe und Puzzle-Teil verborgen. Man wird gut durch die Levels geführt. Ich kann das Buch nur empfehlen! Das Englisch stellt kein Problem dar, da es zum einen leicht verständlich ist und zum anderen bei einem Jump'n Run nicht essentiell notwendig ist, alles zu verstehen.
