If you watched a bunch of YT videos on how to make your own CAT cables you saw one tool consistently in videos that demonstrate the ease at which cables can actually be done, this is the one. With a supply of the pass through RJ45 plugs you can finger cramp your way through producing cables of any custom length. The easy reference color chart on the handle is a perfect addition to this tool, I used it for every single connector, easier than trying to look at your phone every time if you don't have a color printer. I was running 23AWG CAT 6A cables and its ease of use made the job easier as far as that process went, makes nice clean connections. Make sure to put your junction box weather plug and your strain relief boot on before starting wire stripping. Have good lighting when doing this other wise it leads to mistakes in the wire insertion. That is what the cable tester is for though.

Great crimpers for RJ45 jobs. If you want an all-purpose tool (e.g for RJ11 as well, etc), this isn’t it. RJ45 5&6 only. However, I only do RJ11 occasionally these days, so the trade-off is well worth this tool’s compact size. It’s very well made and has a very smooth action as well, but it’s compact size is definitely it’s best feature for me.- - The only suggestion for use is…. when initially inserting the tipped cable, be sure that the copper pairs that will be sticking out the front prior to crimping (this is for pass-through tips), are as straight as possible so they don’t get snagged. This possibly can be reduced by trying to have as little extra sticking out the front of the tips as possible, but that’s often hard to judge when trying to work quickly, and the whole purpose of pass-through tips is to avoid hassling with multiple wire trims to begin with.- - Anyways, hope this made sense. I would definitely recommend these and would buy again if needed.

Saw another review saying the product doesn’t come with extra blade. Well I can testify it does. I am able to use this with the pass through caps I bought and works like a charm. Passes the cable test each time I use this to crimp and trim the cables. Overall grade A++++++

I've used the old style crimpers for 20+ years, these are amazing. Perfect crimp every time. I love that they're smaller and they feel very solid

I bought these along with a bag of the pass through RJ-45 connectors. I put them on the tool bench after the re-wiring due to moving our office in the house from one room to another was complete. Basically, forgot about them. Recently, I need to add a new Wi-Fi AP to the house and was struggling with the old style connectors I had. I remembered these and their associated connectors. Went down to the tool bench, picked up the bag of connectors and the tool, and in the time I was struggling with a pair of terminated cables to be built and tested, I was able to finish the entire project and move on to other things. These pass through connectors are great and this tool is a MUST buy if you get the pass through RJ-45 connectors as it crimps and trims the wires coming out business end of the connector perfectly. It's worth ever dime. If you use pass through RJ-45's get this tool. It's that good. I'll still keep my other crimper as it can do 2,4,& 6 pair wire crimp RJs easily. I'll struggle making those ends but for RJ-45s, this is my tool. Period.
