I have been suffering from fibroids for some time and recently had to have a hysterectomy due my large fibroids since they were causing me to become extremely anemic. Even though, I had built up my hemoglobin levels in order to have surgery; I lost a lot of blood during the surgery and wound up anemic again. A normal healthy woman is supposed to have a hemoglobin level between 12-16 and after surgery mine fell to a 7.1. I was told to eat iron rich foods and in time my hemoglobin levels would rise but I just felt awful that first week that I was home due mostly to the anemia because I would get out of breath easily with exertion and my face looked sallow (brownish yellowish color) and I was extremely tired. I knew I had to take action and ordered Solgar's gentle iron. Unlike, the ferrous sulfate form of iron; iron biglycinate is not constipating at all. And did not cause digestion problems like even ferrous gluconate (like Fergon) can also cause. I went to my OBGYN today to follow up after my surgery and they did a hemoglobin check and mine was 12.6. And they were blown away that I had gotten my numbers up so quickly and how healthy that I looked. I no longer need to take an iron supplement because just eating a healthy diet with iron rich food will maintain and enrich my hemoglobin levels and I would not want to get "iron overload" from having too much iron in my blood since I no longer need to have my levels checked because too much iron can lead to cancer.

I have been using this for a long time for low iron. It seems to be helping me.

This iron is very gentle on my stomach as I usually have a hard time digesting iron supplements. I also appreciate the dosage so that I’m not getting too much at once.

I am always always always anemic. Ugh. It is so frustrating. Like terribly low iron and small and thin red blood cells according to my hematologist. Oh. Why do I have to go to a hematologist? Because every iron pill feels like it is going to burn a hole in my gut while also making me nauseous. So I have to go to the hematologist every few months to have iron infusions which is iron in an i.v. The iron infusions do the trick but man do you feel like absolute crap for a couple days after. Like you have the flu. So anyways. Slow fe hurts my tummy. But these I decided to try and SUCCESS! No stomach pain. At. All. Zero problems with these whatsoever. Another good thing to add if you're trying to get better blood results is Blood Builder by some company I can't remember the name of. Just search blood builder and you will find it. Some like supplements made from foods or something.

Possibly TMI, but this product is far better on my digestive system than the typical iron supplements I usually buy from the store.

I began taking iron because I had become very anemic and I chose this particular product because I had taken iron pills in the past but had always experienced a lot of stomach pain, constipation, etc. and therefore I wasn't every good about actually taking the pills like I should have. I had read reviews about this "gentle" formula and decided to give it a try; I'm really glad that I did! Since I've started taking it, my iron levels have risen to acceptable levels and I can honestly say that it hasn't bothered my stomach or caused any bowel irritation at all, much to my surprise. It's been about a year since I first purchased this and I've been consistently taking it since. A couple of other family members have also started using it and have experienced the same positive results, so I would highly recommend this to ANYONE.

I have been on liquid Iron as prescribed by my physician for a couple of years. Unfortunately, one of the side effects is horrible constipation. I found this product and began taking it instead of liquid iron. I take it with chewable vitamin C to help my system absorb the iron better. I have no problems with severe constipation with this product. During my last follow-up appointment, I shared the product with my physician. She was tickled and said she would share the name of this product with her other patients who are on an iron supplement.

I started taking this Gentle Iron because I had a lot of hair shedding and was feeling low energy. Even after taking these for one week I experienced a very noticeable improvement with both. I am over a month in and feeling so good. Energy is great and my hair shedding has stopped.

Tengo el hierro al límite de bajo, ferritina por los suelos, ferropenia latente y alguna cosa más. El médico no me ha mandado suplemento de hierro, pero al notarme sin fuerzas ya por la mañana he probado con este suplemento por mi cuenta para ver si mejoraba. Lo que me gustó: - Para quienes vamos justos de hierro, da un “chute” inicial: los primeros días noté más energía. - Cápsulas relativamente pequeñas y fáciles de tragar. - Fórmula de bisglicinato (suele sentar mejor que otros hierros). Lo mejorable: - A mí me deja un regusto a “plástico” en la garganta durante un rato. - Hasta tener analítica no puedo confirmar efecto real (ferritina/Fe). En conclusión, parece que algo mejora, pero tendré que hacerme analítica para ver si es verdad o es algo sicosomático.

Estas cápsulas las compré porque tenía 9 en hierro ya que acababa de salir de una cesárea , al pasar dos meses me hice una analítica y salí con 12,9 sin duda la recomiendo por que cumple su cometido, la cantidad de pastillas dan para tres meses y el precio me parece justo
