Llevo un tiempo usando esta lijadora Ingersoll Rand y en general me ha dejado muy buenas sensaciones. Desde que la tomas se nota que es una herramienta bien construida, sólida y pensada para trabajos exigentes. En uso, responde muy bien: tiene buena potencia y el acabado que deja es bastante uniforme. Algo que me gustó mucho es que no vibra en exceso, lo que hace que sea más cómoda en sesiones largas de trabajo. También se siente confiable, de esas herramientas que uno sabe que le van a durar si se cuidan bien. Eso sí, no todo es perfecto. En mi caso, sentí que para sacarle el máximo rendimiento necesitas tener un buen compresor (ya que es neumática), porque si no, no trabaja igual de fluida. Además, al inicio toma un poco de tiempo adaptarse y encontrarle bien el punto. En general, es una muy buena lijadora, potente y duradera, pero que funciona mejor cuando tienes el equipo adecuado para acompañarla. Por eso no le doy las 5 estrellas, aunque sí la recomendaría sin problema.

This has saved me much time and effort. We polish aluminum plates and these are great. Affordable and very effective at removing surface defects. So good I bought a 2nd one for my helpers. I will buy again.

This is my first experience with a straight line pneumatic sander. It is not my first rodeo with pneumatic tools. The unit did not come with instructions. It came with a little card prompting me to search the IR website for documents, which I did, and which returned zero search results. Courtesy of an AI web search, apparently this tool design requires oiling in addition to the normal "air inlet" oiling I usually do daily with my air tools. Indeed, there is a small phillips screw on the left side of the sander that says "oil". It leads to an internal reservoir that actually holds a lot of air-tool oil (probably a couple tablespoons). The unit was shipped dry. It would have been nice if there was a sticker on it that said "oil here before use" or something obvious like that. The unit I received stops in a middle position every time I release the trigger. I must "cock" the sander all the way forward or backward to get it to re-start. I do not know if that's by design or if my unit is defective, or if I damaged it by operating it for less than a minute without that oil reservoir filled. The product description also indicates it is variable speed, which it isn't. The speed can be adjusted somewhat by regulating air pressure, but it won't operate at all much below 90 psi, which is the max rated air pressure. I'm returning the unit for an exact replacement, hoping I got a lemon. Will update review then. I cannot comment yet on how well it works or doesn't work on my boat fairing project.

I bought the Ingersoll Rand model because of its name. It is a brand I have bought before and this one did not disappoint. It is easy to operate and to control, and just the right weight - built solidly.
