These books have made my son an avid reader!
Beast Quest books were a godsend for me! My 7 year old loves to read now. I used to have to argue and bribe him to get in his daily reading, now he does it on his own. I check the books out at the library, but bought a couple to give the 2nd grade teacher for her classroom in case these can make a difference for her future students.

Good books, perfect condition at Great prices!
The book arrived in brand new condition, the day before its ETA (which was in 2 days) and my son really enjoys these books so what more can you want. The only suggestion I have is that since these are smaller books and very inexpensive, I recommend buying more then one at a time because my son finishes them pretty fast. He is in 6th grade. He started reading them in 5th grade and reads at least 30 min a day so 1 book will last approximately a week at an average reading speed. I buy 2 or 3 at a time at least. The good news is there is like over 50 books in the series. Im not exactly sure how many but its a lot so you'll have a while before your child has read them all and my son has read the first 5 and is not bored with them yet so we shall see. Enjoy!

Great series for young boys.
My 8 year old son loves this series. He was not a reader, so finding books that he would read was a challenge. Now as soon as he is finishing the last that he has in the series, he is asking me to buy the next ones.

Great chapter books for boys
Great beginning chapter books to get boys reading. My 2nd grade Grandson loves them. When they have to read 20 minutes a night, it is great to have them read something they WANT to.

A Short, Pleasant Read
This is one of a series of books in which 2 children fight creatures enslaved by an evil sorcerer. His power over the monsters is through a golden collar he put around each of their necks. When the golden collar is removed, however, they are no longer under the sorcerer's power and they turn good again. The is listed at a third grade reading level with interest level ages seven to ten. This seems about right to me. It is sort of like a step up from the (terrific) Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborne. The kids in this book face some danger, perhaps a little more intense than the Tree House books, but not too intense. There is some character development on a slightly deeper level. For example, one of the subplots is that one of the children is looking for his father. In some ways, books of this type might be a gateway to more serious fantasy, similar to the Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine perhaps leading to Stephen King. (It would be interesting to hear from other readers and the paths they took from children's books to more mature works.)This is a pleasant read - and short (76 pages with ample white space) - and is nicely done for its target audience and for what it seems to want to accomplish.
