Canis: Dear Mr. Rain

Haberdash-in' for this book!
Great book that includes superstitions about animals. A really huge lesson in honesty and that means Satoru has to ask Ryou the hard questions at the end about his life in NY and why he left and the real reason he was found so beaten when Satoru found him after he left "to: die". The question remains, why did Ryou want to die so much and what has suddenly given him reason to live by.

Cliffhanger ending but sooo good
Need to wait until the rest of the story is translated into English. Great artwork and story. Will definitely be on the lookout for more translated chapters.

Story
When it arrived, the cover had a bit of damage on it which I was a bit upset about but not deeply. Second of all, the story was nice and the artwork was very pleasing to the eye but it felt as if there wasn't much to it in my opinion. I thought there was going to be more or it was going to be something else from the way the description made it sound to me. It kind of bored me more than I enjoyed it.

Looking forward for the next volume.
When I started reading it, I couldn't stop until the end. I am looking forward for a good development between them. I am already in love with both of them.

Great for a first work
This storyline has it all; some humor, some drama, some mystery, and some boy love in the development. I eagerly await the next installment. I always hope for the cliched happy endings so I hope this gives me the happy closure I didn't get from Banana Fish. I can already imagine the troubled path that lies ahead for Ryou as he will have to decide between the possible bright future with Satarou or loyalty to past relationships that could mean the end.

Absolute BL Perfection from Kuma!
I've loved this manga for years. Zakk is a brilliant writer, very clever and witty. The story they weave here is a cut above most BL; between the artistry of the main POV character and the criminal underbelly (which is explored further in subsequent volumes), manga fans who don't care for BL might still find things to enjoy here. And of course, we have to talk about the art. Zakk is a brilliant artist with a very unconvential art style; they clearly take a lot of inspiration from Western art styles as well as Japanese. This gives their art a unique and instantly recognizable quality. You have to see it to believe it. It may look odd at first, but you will get used to it. Promise.Considering that this has been one of my favourite manga for years, I didn't have high hopes for the English release.Reader, this edition published by Kuma blew my mind. The quality of the translation is impeccable; the translators are clearly good writers with a strong ability to set the tone. The comedic moments are hilarious, the serious and heartfelt moments feel genuine. And the typesetting! Dear gods, I could kiss the letterers. The SFX are hand-drawn to match the style of the manga perfectly, the fonts are fun but not obtrusive... Quality, quality, quality. This is as good as it gets.I've never double-bought manga before, but I've ordered the printed volume now. Can't wait to have it on my shelf. PLEASE read this manga! And let's all hope we get the sequels licensed someday.

Well written, beautiful art and intriguing story
The artwork in this manga is fantastic, and a lot of thought has very clearly been put into the characters and environments designs. Not an awful lot really happens in this volume but the scene it sets is fantastic and really intriguing. It’s an excellent fusion of humour, dark, shady tones and romanctic, relatively realistic and believable moments. The characters backstories are written wonderfully and really bring the characters to life and explain their personalities, quirks and troubles. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. 10/10. Not a bad word to say at all.

Fantastic Quality!
There are a lot of reviews on the story, the art, the characters, all that great stuff that I agree with. However...What really blew my mind, after knowing all of that already (I read the kindle version first), was that the paper quality is ridiculous. Like, this is thick cover letter quality paper, it's almost card stock! The ink and the art are sleek and smooth and crisp, it feels more like an art book than a paperback.I've bought (and received) the new versions from Japan and they are regular manga paper. So this one, already with the excellent translation, the quality is just the perfect bonus.
