It’s the BEST
Amazing! Sturdy! Still going strong 11 years later 💪👏👏👏👊. It’s the best! Easy peasy to tear down and put up when moving. Lots of under bed storage. I purchased the king size in 2015 it’s 2026,

Easy to set up, sturdy and reliable
Built well and is dang sturdy. Uses decent quality aluminum, and is about as easy to set up as can be. No squeaking, and the anti-slip is a plus. Under bed storage is also great, lots of room for under bed cabinets or whatever you'd like. Been using this for around 3 years with no problems

A must-have bedroom essential!
This is the first time I got this 14" full sized bed platform for my new full sized mattress because I wanted one without needing to purchase a box spring. I can say that after a couple days I am very pleased and satisfied with what I got. This bed platform was very easy to set up. I did it all by myself with no help. No wasting time trying to put the legs and slats together because this comes in practically two pieces. All I had to do was to follow the instructions and put the screws in for the legs and join the two metal platforms together. It is very stable on my carpet floor and is very sturdy now that I have my mattress and comforter on top. I'm only 5'0" and about 120 lbs so I don't see this platform possibly bending or collapsing from my regular use. Even if I use the bed with a heavier person on there I think it is still very stable. I have not heard any squeaking as I was rolling around and moving on my bed. I also like that they included some nonslip adhesive strips as it helped keep my bed skirt in place while I placed my new mattress on top. I didn't get a headboard so I'm not sure how easy it is to install any headboard outside of the brand. I am currently renting a room in a house and storage space has been pretty limited to me. I was able to fit a lot of things underneath the smartbase, including my shoes, styrofoam cooler, some clothes, bags, and clean containers and food jars. Pretty much any storage container under 13" in height can fit underneath the base. The diagonal bars that hold the legs in place and legs in the middle of the base are in the way, so if you have any wide and tall storage containers then you have to be a little careful. If you need to fit standard storage containers, I would recommend getting the taller smartbase such as the 16" or 18". For someone of my height with a 14" base plus 8” mattress and a 2" mattress topper, I did not have trouble getting on and off of my bed. My feet dangle about 2-3" off the ground now. I could imagine that any smartbase greater than 14" would give my bed a lot of height. Overall I am very happy that I got this base. You can probably tell that the black cat in one of my pictures is very pleased, too. I would argue that even if you don't need much bed storage space, this is a great bedroom essential to have because it is easy for one person to put together, dismantle, and move and you can easily add height to your bed without sacrificing its stability and sturdiness. And with a good bed skirt and comforter, you'll forget that you even have a metal bed platform!

Sturdy but mattress slides around.
It was easy to put together and it is very sturdy. I have been sleeping on it for a little over a month now and it hasn’t squeaked at all or made noise and I do toss and turn a lot. There is adequate room to store stuff underneath and it’s the perfect height to sit down comfortably to put shoes on. I have only one complaint/issue. The mattress slides around on top of the bed frame so easily. I find myself constantly sliding the mattress back in place. Now, this only happens when someone bumps the mattress or sits down and it slides a little. It’s really annoying and I wish the company would have included the gaskets that go on the side to keep the mattress in place. I bought a different frame recently for my son and that did include those gaskets and it makes a real difference, he never had to slide his mattress back in place. For this reason I knocked off one star.

Strong, Sturdy, and Solid Bed Frame! Highly Recommend!
I am a fairly big guy. I have had plenty of bed frames that have broken due to both carelessness on my part as well as the bed frames not being strong enough to hold my weight. We have done everything from rigging the bed frames and without fail they always ended up breaking. So for almost 10+ years I have been sleeping with a mattress on the floor. I started to do research on bed frames that would be able to hold together with my weight and I came pass this Sleep Master SmartBase Mattress Bed Frame which I saw could hold up to a advertised 2,400 pounds and I was automatically sold. The reviews of this bed frame were very good, the price was reasonable, and that is when I made my purchase. I got this bed frame and once unboxing it I was very skeptical. I could not believe that these two separate frames with two nuts and screws to combine them together to create a full frame would hold someone of my size, especially separately. The legs seem to thin, but the only thing that looked promising was this was made out of steel. Even screwing them together I still was very unsure. I was even weary about climbing onto this bed frame thinking it would collapse under my weight. Once I put my mattress on it and made my bed up I finally garnered up enough courage and climbed on and I was amazed it did not fall straight to the floor, matter of fact, it did not squeak, I felt no budge, nothing. This bed frame was a very solid, very sturdy, and very strong. I was amazed. The more I climbed on and off this bed frame my confidence increased and I am sure yours will too overtime. There were a few things I needed to get used to. First off, since I have been relatively sleeping on the ground for a decade I needed to get used to how high I was sleeping in the air. I believe it's about 14 inches off the floor which is pretty elevated. As an adult I can easily fit underneath this bed frame. You can comfortably place luggage and other storage items underneath it just to give you an idea. I have only had this bed frame for about a week so any squeaking that has been a big complaint and con of this bed frame has yet to occur. One accident I made while purchasing this product was buying a box spring. You can buy a box spring for this, but I would highly suggest you save your money and DO NOT BUY A BOX SPRING. With how high this bed frame sits off the ground and your mattress on top of it, with a box spring, you will be able to outstretch your arm and touch the ceiling on your knees with ease. Just my suggestion. This bed frame and a mattress is perfectly fine. I just want to touch on how simple this bed frame was putting together. You need no tools. You simply just latch and screw on tightly with your hands. It is that easy. I am pretty sure anyone from a child to a elderly person can put this together. Overall, I am impressed with this bed frame. I have no complaints about it. Easy to put together, it's a strong, sturdy, and solid bed frame that you can have confidence getting in and out of. If you like sleeping high then you will definitely get that from this product. I would suggest this to my fellow big people or just anybody who is looking for a new bed frame. I already suggested it to my brother. Right now, I will give this a 5/5 perfect score. I highly recommend this.

Very nice for the price
I've been looking for a platform bed frame for about 4 years. They all were so very expensive or hard to ship. Many of them were regular bed frames that require a "bunky board" at additional cost to hold the mattress without a foundation. My mattress can sit on a frame without a foundation, but must have a center support, and ideally all-over support. I came across this somehow while searching Amazon and decided to give it a try. The FedEx guy brought it right to the door and even offered to carry it to the bedroom. It only weighs 40 lbs. so I just scooched it across the floor and carpet. When I opened the package, I was more surprised than I expected from reading the reviews. It was truly only about 20 mins of set-up time. Two camp-cot size frames, a little more narrow than twin each, bolt together with two large, easy to handle bolts with wing nuts. Before you bolt the frames together, you lay the frame on its top, then flip up all six legs and slip them into their slots, then simply tighten the already attached hex nuts. Easy Peasy! I only used a Vise Grip to tighten the two connecting bolt wing nuts a bit (because my hand grip is so weak). Then I flipped the frame over by myself (I have a bad back, and am not very strong, but it was no problem). Then I loaded the mattress on. I did have to take the mattress and bedding off later and reposition the frame farther from the wall in order to access the only outlet that a bedside lamp could be plugged into. So caution on positioning the frame. You won't be able to move it once you put the mattress on. It is very firm and sturdy. No squeaks so far, and I've even plopped onto the bed quite hard a few times. I've had the frame a week now and I love it. I have storage room under the bed for my luggage because the clearance is 14". Now I don't have to haul the heavy luggage up and down from the top closet shelves. I could even store my canister vacuum cleaner under the bed. Mine did not come with the bed skirt. I want to buy my own color of bed skirt. I don't have a head board, but either that or both a head board and foot board can be attached by using the kits that are sold on Amazon. I recommend this frame for a mattress that doesn't need a foundation, or a futon too. Nothing will get through the wire grid. It is very sturdy. And the price is so very right!

Easy set up
What a great bed frame! Set up quickly and easily, my mattress is more comfortable on this frame and it’s easy to change sheets without a headboard and footboard. I would buy again!

Excellent
First, a little note. When people review stuff online, it's usually because they totally loved the product or hated it. Unfortunately, that doesn't account for STUPIDITY, so reviews should be treated with caution. Personally, my favorite reviews are usually 3 stars. They're usually pretty honest. Here's how I use online reviews: a) I carefully read the full item description, features, and specs from the manufacturer, and look at photos of the product to check for consistency. b) I read five to ten of the 5-star reviews to see if what the reviewers enjoyed matched the item description. c) I read every 1-star review and use a rubric that scores on: i) the reviewer's intelligence level (not even highest education received and I feel like I'm very generous on spelling and grammar mistakes, as I think an average fourth grader is still competent enough to rate most products), ii) the reviewer's experience level with products of that nature (for example, if I'm buying carabiners and the reviewer says they know nothing about climbing, then I know I can't trust the review), iii) whether the reviewer is reviewing the product or the seller (yes, there is a different place to rate the seller, as well as the packaging and shipping speed, but some people don't seem to understand that, see above for stupidity), iv) whether the reviewer read the item description, v) and finally, what they were actually disappointed about. This bed is exactly as described. I bought it to replace a platform bed with wooden slats that I didn't feel confident would stand up again after another move and my career field leads to lots of relocations. Field technicians in biology, ecology, forestry, etc. have adopted the phrase "bio gypsy" and for good reason. I read multiple reviews for this product and loads of other beds like it before I decided to take the leap. And leap I did! 1) It is extremely easy to setup. I took about 20 minutes, diligently checking that I'd securely tightened all the foot-supporting bars' wing nuts: first when the two halves were upside down, then when they were right-side up and finally after I'd connected them. There were instructions for assembly, but only a very very dumb monkey would need them. The support bars for the legs are very obvious and if they aren't, try to imagine any reason for the wing nuts, to which the support bars attach, to exist on such a minimal design. Also, part of those 20 minutes were also spent making sure the thing would disassemble as easily as it setup. It passed that test. 2) I've had the bed for less than a week, but I've been testing it pretty thoroughly (though not in the "active couple" way quite yet, that will be next week (; ) by jumping up and down and rolling and bouncing. I've tried to make it squeak. I weigh ~140 lbs (which isn't particularly heavy, I know, which is why I've been aggressively jumping to try to get a squeak) and I can't get a peep from this thing. There are no pieces of metal to rub together to make any god-awful noise. There are some reviews that mentioned both creaking AND squeaking. I may be wrong, but I consider those to be very different. Creaking would occur if there was some part of the frame rubbing another and squeaking is when a joint or contact point moves audibly. There is absolutely no creaking here. Oh, but wait, I should mention that I took about two minutes to adhere a small piece of cardboard (cut from the box) to each of the twelve feet to keep the rubber feet from squeaking on the hardwood floor. I would've done that anyway to protect the floor. Also, I placed some to act as bumpers on the parts of the frame that could contact the walls during grown-up activities. A little bit of foresight should go a long way there, I think. If the bed starts creaking after a few months, you should check that all the nuts are still tight. It is normal for those things to loosen up. 3) This frame is not an eyesore. If it doesn't look like a fancy bed for your master bedroom, then buy a bedskirt. It does look metal. And it has lots of under-the-bed storage space. That matches the item description and the photos. 4) There are no brackets for head- or footboard attachment. Those are sold separately. 5) My mattress doesn't slide around. I'm not sure why that's an issue for other people, and there aren't any rails or listen lips to keep it in place, but it's still not an issue. 6) This product eliminates the need for a box spring. Some reviewers have said they feel like the princess and the pea because the mattress is so high when they use this frame plus a box spring. Also, there is no need to buy pieces of particle board to add extra support for the mattress (unless it is a foam mattress with absolutely no support for itself). The thin metal wires are strong enough for the job. 7) I expect the frame to be compatible with some wooden frames (probably if made by the same company), so I'm not surprised that some people couldn't get this to work out. Check the dimensions of the wooden frame you want to place this inside of and check the product specs before ordering.

Really Happy with the product.
Easy assembly, it’s actually a great product if you want a high quality frame for a good price, assembled in about 5 minutes, there is actually no squeaking noise at all , I replaced my old frame because of the squeaky slats, also this frame is foldable, great if you ever need to get rid of it or move , amazing product for this price range.

A sturdy and stable bed frame.
We love the frame, it’s simple, smart and sturdy design makes this a very impressive bed frame. We couldn’t believe it but it works. We cut up the packaging cardboard into a 30”X74” rectangular piece and placed it on top of the frame to better support the mattress. We do not know if it’s possible to add a headboard but we really like the bed frame especially it’s height and storage space underneath. I encountered great difficulties in finding bedding for the narrow twin bed 30”X75”. I had to order the fitted bed sheet from the Amazon US and it was expensive. I found the bed skirt from Amazon Canada. (Meila brand with elastic cord all round and a 14” skirt marked for twin/full size) It fitted the narrow twin bed frame very nicely. I feel that it’s important to mention this as it is very hard to find the bed skirt. Other than this, the bed frame is perfect.

Great fold away bed
Just love this little bed frame. It is a nice width for a twin size mattress, and its very light weight. No assembluy required! The legs pop open and voila! there you go. Storeage is easy too. It folds easily and slides either under the bed, or into the closet. no problems. Love this.
