What is the layout of the keyboard? is it standard qwerty (us layout)?

it IS a standard keyboard layout, yes there is a "FUNCTION" button where the right most options/alt button normally would be that nobody uses.

Please can any of the buyers tell me what exactly is inside the box?

My box contained the MX Keys Keyboard, wireless usb dongle (Logitech Logi Bolt USB Receiver, not the older Logitech Unifying Receiver), USB-C charging cable, and paperwork.

Can the backlighting be set to stay on?

My keyboard seems to allow the backlighting to stay on.
