Container Dibble Bar, Short Dibble Point

Excellent ergonomic design (I’m 82 yo). Very good soil penetration and foot plate seems to be a good size at least for my size 11 foot. Apparently of robust build as only difference after 125+ seedlings and lots of false starts into logging compacted soil with rocks was some loss of paint.

Kind of disappointed in the quality control. It arrived in a well-padded box. The tip was separately wrapped in thick cardboard, and yet the paint on the tip was already chipped off. It was so well wrapped for shipping that it's hard to believe the chip didn't occur before shipping. Not worth returning as it would probably be chipped soon anyhow, but disappointing.

Planted 900 IFCO Loblolly Containerized seedlings this past Sat/Sun/Mon. For the softer dirt this dibble bar worked great. The depth was good, the hole width was a little snug so had to wallow it out just a little by wiggling this dibble bar around just a tad.Worked great on the softer ground. For the dryer/tougher ground had to use a 1.6" x 9" drill auger bit (about $10 on Amazon). This dibble bar is easier on the back but both the bar and auger bit served it's desired purpose. This dibble bar is well made and will last a lifetime if taken care of. One nice thing about the dibble bar is that there's nothing to go wrong. The drill/auger would run out of batteries. Luckily I borrowed a couple batteries from my neighbor.If the ground is dry/clay/tough, this bar just won't go in so get you an auger bit to go along with this bar.

Awesome tool. Heavy and strong. saves my back!! I already used it a lot!

I got it to plant small bulbs (camas) which it worked *great* for (I did about 50 to start). I also use it for placing fertilizer spikes around trees and shrubs - it is perfect for those. I plugged in 30 in about 10-15 minutes using this tool.
