Kangol USA Wool 504

I own quite a few Kangols but when you add wool to the title they will keep you warm,don’t buy “wool”Unless you want warmth from the cold!Great construction and a great fit and I’ll continue my collection until I have a few “wool” ones but overall color and fit are most important.

Hat looks good, arrived perfect. I like the style of this hat, and the wool really keeps my head warm even during cold, snowy winter days. The material is easy to clean, and still looks brand new even after months and months of use since I bought it. I highly recommend Kangol wool hats if you want a hat that will last and last.

The hat on the left is a Kangol. I purchased it almost 40 years ago in New York City. The brim has lost some of its stiffness, but it still holds its shape just fine after all this time. I decided I wanted to buy another one, so I picked the tobacco colored one on the right. I was so impressed with the box it came in - completely protected until it arrived at its destination. I ordered the same size as I did originally, and it fits perfectly. My head diameter is 24" and I went with the XL. You can't go wrong with quality. Beautiful hat.

Bought 3 Large hats and sent each back because they were too big or the color was different than my computer displayed. Usually purchase Large in the Kangol Wool 504. Bought a Medium this time and it fits like a Large and has much more fabric than necessary giving it a wide bulky look when wearing. May try to shrink it in the dryer. I prefer the shorter brim in the 504 USA made model, but this hat is very wide and looks bulky. Bought another Medium 504 non-USA version which is supposed to have a slight deeper brim and it has the same brim depth as the USA model, but fits and looks great. So not sure what is going on with Kangol’s quality control. Vendor is good and allows returns, but buyer pays for shipping. If you are right on the cusp between a Medium or Large, I’d size down.

My hair is thin and short; this cap is warm and definitely cool. I’ve had a Harris Tweed Kangol since I was 17 (thirty-nine years ago,) and its classic lines still look great.I used the sizing chart and selected a large. The cap arrived with a paper tag attached that said “LARGE”, but the tag sewn into the cap says “MEDIUM .” ??? It fits perfectly.

I purchased this to replace one I have had for 5 years, but misplaced. I purchased the original from a department store, and that one seemed heavier Wool than this one. I actually like this one better. It folds flat more easily for packing and keeps me just as warm. It also appears to cover the sides and back of my head better. I now wonder if my original was authentic Kangol. Either way - great cap - highly recommended!

I’m typically not a hat guy. But as I get older and the scalp becomes more barren I’m finding a need for warmth in the winter and shade in the summer. This hat definitely provides warmth and fits my head perfectly. I did find the need to grow accustomed to this foreign object, because I said I’m not a hat guy. But this hat is incredibly comfortable, and didn’t take long at all. I’ll be buying another color very soon.

Finally he found something to fit his big head...literally! Great hat and quality!
