Great alternative to Labo Headset
I’m pleased to say that it’s a robust and comfortable alternative to Nintendo’s cardboard Labo headset, with the added advantage of the user not being required to hold it in place. The only thing that lets it down is something that’s out of Oivo’s control, in that there’s a real lack of VR-specific games on Switch; those that are available - such as the modes offered in Super Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros and Breath of the Wild - work well, but if you don’t have all three of these games you may find little else to justify the cost. That said, YouTube VR content works well and – with the headset being reasonably priced at around £25 – if this is something that appeals, it’s certainly an inexpensive way to watch VR videos. So it works well for what it is - and it’s a decent price considering its build quality, but whether or not you personally think it’s worth a purchase hinges on how many of the VR-enabled games you either already own or intend to get. It’s certainly a vastly cheaper investment than, say, PSVR - or even standalone headsets such as Oculus Go - but is definitely a lot more limited than those examples too. That’s not the fault of the headset itself though – or Oivo. With more content available, this would be a near enough essential purchase for the Switch.

Not great
Awful item... uncomfortable to wear, unable to see the game properly and therefore unable to play the game properly. The kids tried and I thought it was them, however I then tried and it was awful. I have great eye sight but couldn’t get it to focus with both eyes together. Maybe I was expecting more from it as we have a PS4 VR head set but even then I knew it wouldn’t compare to that however this is unusable 😢

Initially skeptical but overall impressed!
I wasn't sure what to expect from the Nintendo Switch in the way of VR and i expected even less from a third party peripheral but have to admit that i have been pleasantly surprised on both counts!First of all the headset from Oivo, the product came well packaged and is overall of a very decent build quality. It sits nicely on your head and can be adjusted from a couple of straps. It is made from a soft material as well so doesn't become too uncomfortable when the weight of the Switch is located within it.With reference to the VR gaming experience, at this time the Nintendo Switch only has a few games available with VR compatibility & in this instance i used Super Smash Bros. Whilst ultimately a pointless VR experience, the headset performed admirably. The image was clear and responsive with minimal blurring. I still was experiencing a little in the way of motion sickness but believe this is down to my lack of VR use rather than the headset itself.I need to be clear that this is NOT a PSVR or HTC Vive experience and as such is not priced that way, it is an entry level VR headset with some small support via Nintendo, it also remains to be seen whether they add compatibility to anymore of the games withing the Switches library! In summary, for the money it is an excellent purchase and does the job well, if anything it could only get better if more games become VR enabled on the Switch!

As a novelty it works and especially for younger adults...
Oivo Nintendo Switch VR HeadsetOivo are a company that specialise in peripherals for a number of consoles in the current gaming market.Straight off the bat, I must be clear that this is an entry level VR device and in no way is a substitute for a real Virtual Reality device like the PSVR, Oculus or other such VR unit. With that said if you have a Nintendo Switch and are looking to sample the wonderful and worthwhile, in my opinion, delights of VR then this simple set up could be for you.The build of the device is relatively solid and is made of fabric and soft foam rubber. The headset enables the user to place the switch on the front end and the lenses along with the software do the work.A very important point must be made moving forward, this VR headset has a limited number of games and platforms that support its use. Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda BOTW, Super Smash Bros Nintendo Labo & some videos on YouTube are your lot at the moment. It remains to be seen whether or not nintendo will continue to support this aspect of it's big game releases but I would be hopeful they do.The head set itself is comfortable to use and the build quality is reasonable considering the price point. It's not thee most comfortable headset but is much lighter and the freedom you are given is greater than that of other VR units due to no wires being needed. The performance in games such as Zelda BOTW took me by surprise as I didnt expect much for the low price tag. Dont get me wrong, it's not a superb high def experience but I did get a fair bit of enjoyment out of it.Is this the type of headset you could play long gaming sessions with?Short answer here is no, its comfortable upto a point but wearing anything on your face for more than an hour isn't really appealing to me. If you are looking to play BOTW for 2 hours plus I'd say that using the head set is not the best way to go.For example when using the VR within zelda the screen size is reduced to a circular field of vision that shrinks when heavy movement is enacted. This, as far as I'm aware, is down to two things, one is processing power and the other is an attempt to avoid motion sickness. In regards to the later, I never had any problems with this unit and this is coming from someone who has had some pretty dodgy motion sickness experiences with PSVR (driveclub could easily be used as some sort of torture device haha). As a novelty it works and especially for younger adults id say it is a portal for them to experience a very limited version of VR without the huge price tag other units have.Advice: Buy but know that it is a limited experience with only a handful of games that support its use.

A very good fit.
My 11 year old finally decided what to spend his Christmas money on and we bought this VR headset for his Nintendo Switch. He plays Breath of the Wild (one of the few games supported on Switch for VR) and is loving the experience. The headset is very adjustable and quite comfortable to wear, not being too heavy at the front with the Switch in place. If you are sitting on the fence about the product, be assured it is a quality item, well made and comfortable for the money.

Not a high tech toy
Comfort - not great. If wearing glasses - not comfortable at all.Value for money - it did not cost that much, so I guess its ok. We wanted something cheap for child to enjoy . Ok as a toy fpr 7 year old. not a high tech.

Great quality!
Better than expected ! The kids are very happy! Unfortunately Nintendo switch doesn't have many games to play with the VR glasses :(
