We have a very expensive deep seated couch that we recently had reupholstered, but my husband loves sleeping on it so much that the center of the cushions began to look and feel indented. There was no support and my back would hurt after sitting on it.I found this product and sprung at the chance. Be careful when opening it because it is under so much compression that when I opened it, it and sprung up, and snapped me in the face. Don’t be a dummy like me.I measured each cushion well I thought, but cutting the first one took me forever because I was using an Exacto knife. Big rookie mistake! The cushion was not too nice looking and I had to add some padding so that it looked OK. I end up using my husbands 12 inch fishing knife to cut the others and had a much easier time.I love the way it turned out. Hubs thinks it’s too hard and not inviting and he woke up from a nap complaining about the firmness, so I’m not too sure how long it’ll take to break in. It’s definitely very very sturdy and even with batting covering it, it’s still very hard.

We purchased this foam as a replacement for the original 10-year-old foam in our sofa cushions. It was more economical to order the longer piece of new foam and cut it to size upon its arrival. We were a bit nervous about the cutting, wondering how difficult a task this would be. We need not have worried. Using a serrated knife we cut along our marks without problem. The key is to take it slow and let the knife do the work for you. Just follow your marks. In the attached photo, the cushion on the left is the original foam, the cushion on the right is the new foam. Start to finish, marking, cutting and replacing the foam took less than one hour. This is definitely a doable DIY project.

So, if I had written a review when I first cut and added this foam to my sofa, it would have been 5+ stars. Sadly, this does not last 7-10 years as stated in description. I work full time, have an active life and am lucky to get an hour or two of couch time each evening (a bit more on the weekends). After reading the reviews I purchased an electric meat knife to cut! Worked like a charm and it came in handy for our Easter ham too! I changed out two of the 3 sofa cushions. My son wanted to keep his "comfy cushion". His "comfy", saggy and mushy, killed my back! Anyway, I added these wonderful, very firm cushions... my couch felt new and once again i could sit watching mindless tv in my limited spare time!! Fast forward a mere 2 months and I was noticing back pain again... now 4 months later, it feels as bad as my original cushions that were 8 years old!! I love my sofa, size, shape and color. I cant find anything I like for less than $1K.... and sadly, at that price it could be mushy after a few months too. I will most likely purchase another brand hoping to get at least another year of comfortable tv time. Very disappointing!!

Super fast delivery, even without prime delivery! It's a little harder to cut then initially thought but I bought a hot foam cutter and worked like a charm! Made my couches new again! Definitely would recommend! I bought a different brand first and this one is definitely the better choice!

I wish there was more of a caution as to how firm, firm meant. I installed two cushions to my sofa (which has 6 total cushions) and the difference from the old to new is crazy. The new foam almost feels like sitting on the floor. One good thing is there is no struggle to get off of the sofa now because we are not sunk in as before. It will take a bit to break-in the new cushions but maybe I should have gone with the semi-firm......

The foam is easy to cut and shape (my electric knife worked just fine). I used it to replace the 15 year old foam in my sofa and love seat. The foam is significantly stiffer than the old, mushy foam that had been in my couches, but once you get used to it you realize just how unsupportive the old foam was. And cutting and placing this new foam into my cushioned saved me several hundred dollars by doing it myself versus the “master craftsmen” the local company I was going to have do it was going to charge me.

Great foam! I bought it to use as a settee mattress onboard a sailboat where it'll be used as a benchseat much of the time as well. Very comfortable in both regards, and the stated 44# density seems pretty accurate compared to 50# foam already onboard. Nice product, good price and prompt delivery.

I took my couch cushions to a local and highly recommended custom foam company here in town. I was there a total of five minutes and they handed me a bid of $400 to replace the foam in the cushions. Since that was a little less than half of what I paid for the couch, I politely said thank you but no. Being the savvy buyer than I am, I made sure to note the brand of foam they were using and lucky found it here on Amazon. For $76, my husband and I cut and replaced all three cushions. The foam is the perfect firmness and slid easily back into the cushion covers. We could not be happier with this purchase. The couch is better than it was when we bought it and DEFINITELY recommend this foam to anyone considering handling this same task on their own.

we had an old couch that has feathers as a filling for cushion. it was worn down so much and we looked and looked for couch to purchase but we did not like any of those. My husband suggested upholstery and I am so glad we chose this product. We measured size very carefully before and it worked just perfectly! I shared 2 pictures. one that is all fixed and the other shows before and after. It was light, compact and easy to change. we bought firm but it is not firm firm. still very soft to sit on and lean on. love it so much!!!

Stuff is wonderful for my (very unorthodox) purposes. I purchased a quantity of 3 of these pieces of foam (wish I got 4), to use for crash mats for my home bouldering (rock climbing) gym. The foam is great, it’s firm and dense, yet quite light and squishy. Definitely holds up to a 6’ fall onto a flat back. I imagine it would be nearly perfect for upholstery/cushion work.

This foam has made my sofa new again! I absolutely love it! It is holding up extremely well with daily use. One of my best purchases ever :)Suggest using a very large sharp knife. Draw pattern on front and back of cushion. Cut in front of a full length mirror in order to see that you stay on the line on both the front and the back. I washed my sofa cushion covers and installed the foam when the covers were still damp. Then stood them up to dry…. Perfect job!!!

J'ai pris cette mousse afin de faire des coussins pour un sofa extérieur. Je vous recommande le 5 pouces si vous faite comme moi. J'ai pris 6 pouces et c'est un peu trop épais, mais, l'épais la dedans est moi, pas la mousse! Elle est très confortable et facile a couper.

Cut to size and covered with a stretch fabric for use on an old wicker settee with a cloth seating surface that had seen better days. Perfect for the job!
