APEC WATERSystems Set 3 Pcs 3.5" O.D. Replacement ORing for Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Housings with lubricant

Worked perfectly the first time. Be sure to order the correct version.
I had no trouble replacing the o-rings for the three primary filters on my APEC Reverse Osmosis system and these o-rings worked perfectly in every respect.I did read some reviews indicating the o-rings were thinner than the originals, had a larger outside diameter than the originals and/or did not seal properly. I saw none of those problems and think I may know how to avoid those issues:• First and foremost, be sure to order the correct version. There is a Type “A” for systems manufactured before a certain pair of dates and a Type “B” for systems manufactured after those dates. Clicking on the Type “B” box will provide those dates. Be sure to select the correct (“A” or “B”) box before proceeding with ordering. My system was manufactured in 2018 so I ordered Type “B” and the replacement o-rings appeared identical to the originals.• I used food grade o-ring grease on all 3 o-rings and on the flat rubber washers at each end of the two carbon filters which I was installing. I spread the grease thinly but thoroughly over the surface of all items. The grease prevents friction loads which can damage rubber parts and can give a false indication of the torque applied. There are many brands available; I used Haynes Lubri-Film sanitary lubricant which costs about $8 for a 4 oz tube but will lubricate many o-rings per tube.• I used the wrench provided with the original set to tighten each filter case after installing. I pulled until each was a little more than firm; perhaps a 5-8 lb pull on the wrench.Good luck. I hope this has been helpful.

Little bit on the large side but no leaks.
Figured I would change the o-rings with the filters to lessen the chance of any leaks. These o-rings are the APEC brand and not aftermarket. I put a little bit of plumbers silicone grease on them prior to installing. O-rings were a little bit oversized which I thought was odd. I installed them best as possible and no leaks. Due to size versus what was in there from new I gave 4 stars instead of 5. So far so good, no leaks. I have the ROES-50 system on my kitchen sink, great low cost system that removes all weird taste from my municipal supplied water. Glad I have this system.Update: 12/2/20 - product page has changed and now there is a set B available. Per the ordering instructions my filter canister housings matched their callout for set B. Upon installation the B O-Rings were undersized and not laying flat in the housing channels. I reinstalled the set A from the last service, thankfully no leaks. Not sure what the problem is with getting O-Rings that seat correctly. Amazon made right as usual and refunded the purchase price. I made notes and will order set A next go around and see what happens.

Works Well!
This was a perfect fit for my water system. Just make sure to carefully look at the photo description as this company makes two sizes! it's very easy to accidentally choose the wrong one if you are not paying attention. All you have to do is match the filter housing to the photo and you will know if it will fit or not. I applied some food-grade silicone to the O-ring to give it a better seal. You can also put some of that silicone on the rubber gaskets on both sides of the carbon filters (stages 2-3). This helps it seal much better. I noticed that if I did not apply the silicone to the carbon filters there is usually a buildup of gunk (??) on the top seal which tells me the seal may not have been performing as it should. I love the APEC Roes-50 water system! It has made a huge difference in our water quality (and we sure don't miss having to carry all of those heavy 5-gallon water bottles from the store)!

Larger than original o rings, but seems to work
Same as some other folks, these o rings didn't properly fit my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd stage filters on my RO system. Still, I'm not seeing any leakage, and my system works fine. Minus 1 star for making me feel like I was going to have to go through the hassle of returning $8 o rings.

need to keep on hand
If you use a canister style water filter, eventually the o-rings will fail. Of course, when the leak happens, having replacement o-rings (the only real point of failure able to leak) will be great to have.I got APEC to 'match' the brand of my filter. A different ring of the correct diameter would likely work too. That is why it got only 3 stars on the value. But, as the headline says, if you have a canister filter system, you NEED to keep a supply of these on hand for WHEN a leak happens because it will leak - just a matter of time.

As Expected
Arrived in good shape. They arrive inside a ziplock type bag inside the shipping envelope. No issues with the extreme temperatures (freezing). The filters themselves also arrived in excellent shape. We have replaced these filters several times without issues. Grateful for convenient shipping with Amazon. I hope this helps someone. Thank you.

Not rocket science here!
This is the easiest install ever!!! Just unscrew your filter holder using the supplied wrench for your system, apply the silicone grease to the O ring place the ring on the place the older one was and screw it back! That's it! Done! Finito! Do that every time you change your filters, this is inexpensive and easy to keep your system leak free.

DIDN'T NEED THEM FOR SECOND SET OF FILTERS
I bought these O-rings in a panic, thinking that I needed them to swap out the filters for the first time. The original filters were on so tight that I had to have my plumber come over to install them! I could not budge the filters to save my life. He inspected the original O-rings and said the replacements were not necessary yet, but to hold onto them.We LOVE this system! The water tastes completely bland. In other words, it tastes like absolutely nothing, which is exactly what it's supposed to taste like.

Exactly what we needed
One of our RO tubes was leaking and we had to replace the o rings. It took a while to find the right size but when we did it worked perfectly. No more leaking.

Slightly smaller than 3.5"
I have a standard RO unit with 3.5" gasket housings. These gaskets did NOT fit, they were slightly too small and would not seat properly! Frustrating to say the least.
