Is this strong enough to use for a DI water rinse after lab testing? Also is there an indicator when the cartridge life is up?

I wouldn't say it would be very good for rinsing things off especially if you need medium to higher water pressure.The water needs time to flow through the filter. There is a red/green light on the system that indicates when the filter is bad as well.
