Good quality camera, displays 720p well. Night vision is fantastic. I've owned for about 60 days so far. No issues. Depending on distance, this camera has the potential to read small lettering say on a license plate. We have them positioned 20ft off the ground under our roof ledge around our house, they capture events well, can make out vehicle descriptions such as make/model/color, or person descriptions but the height we have them at, and the distance to the road..I can not make out license plates. I wouldn't change them though, I'm happy with this product Looking forward to trying out a pan/tilt/zoom camera made by Samsung down the road. Just one would be an awesome addition to our security system.

This camera was a big disappointment. It is not sharp. I cannot read a license plate number from 15 feet. It is hard to recognize a face at 10 feet. I have four Samsung SDC-9440BU. They are quite good. I can't figure out how the SDC-7340BU could be so much worse. It might that I have a defective camera but I don't think so. It works but not very good.

For a standard def camera it's ok. I have them (4 of them) installed outside, to be honest they perform better as indoor cameras... Way better! Outside further that 10-15 feet at night you are out of luck if you want to identify anyone (face wise or certain details) and maybe 35-40 feet during the day. If you are stuck with standard def cams like these and want more detail and sharp pic then upgrade to an HD system at least 720p but 1080p would be the ideal l, that is really the way to go. But if you don't care about video quality you just want to see things and keep an eye on things that are close by these would be ok for you then. Btw the life span of these cameras is not very good especially outdoors but the good thing is that replacing them is very cheap they go for $28 each at the moment of this review, not bad if you ask me... In my personal case the have last almost 2 years and I haven't have a problem with them.

These cameras work very well As expected the day picture is very sharp while the night vision not quite so much.

Added to Samsung dvr. Works well. Played less last time I added camera to my system but now these are hard to find.

For a standard def camera its pretty good. Its definitely more clear, the picture is sharper and there is much better contrast the the 600 TVL cameras that originally came with my system. I say BS to the claim of 82 feet of night vision however. You would be lucky to recognize one of you own relatives, much less a criminal, from anywhere further that 10-15 feet at night and maybe 30 feet during the day. If you are stuck with standard def cams then upgrade, but if you can afford to get an all HD system, that is really the way to go.

I wanted to supplement a box of 12 I bought from sams club. Could not tell the difference between the one I got from here vs the new ones in the box. ( I was lucky enough to get the box of 12 at about 50 percent off due to an open box setup) so this camera was about the same cost too. No complaints.
