Love it so far. No problems, but a couple of caveats
Bought this for a Gen 3 Glock 17, completely stock except for aftermarket fiber optic sights; and because at my age I'm having difficulty pinching the rear slide serrations (which ain't the best in my opinion) to pull the slide back. The fit was perfect, installation a breeze, and so is racking the slide now. I worried that the aftermarket rear sight, which extends behind the stock sight dovetail all the way to the back of the slide, would prevent installing this product. No issues at all.I recall reading (in an Amazon review) that this product interfered with reinstalling the slide after disassembly. I had no problem at all. Also recall something about the user's gun not functioning properly because of (essentially) the weight this product added to the slide. Only shot about 50 rounds with it on but I had zero issues. The product is basically feather-light; don't see how it could cause the problem described, and it makes absolutely no contact with any part of the gun but the slide.. Several folks reported the device falling off/pulling loose when they retracted the slide with it. I've yanked my slide many dozens of times. Mine stayed tight; again, not a single issue in that regard.I do have a couple of caveats for prospective buyers -- and the manufacturer. The product comes with only two screws and two nuts.... what you need, no more. Unless precautions are taken, with repeated firing of the gun, slide moving hard back and forward again many times, I'll bet one or both screws will work loose and a nut (and maybe a screw too) will fall out and be lost. The screws and especially the nuts are tiny. So, how about including at least 2 sets of screws and nuts? Doing so should add what, 2 cents, to the manufacturer's/seller's cost?? (But you DO get a free allen wrench... which, if you're like me, you can add to the collection of dozens of allen wrenches you already have in various places.)Being wary of loosening, and losing, a nut and possibly a screw too I put a dab of blue (removable) Loctite on the screws before I assembled the parts and let things set for 24 hours. I STRONGLY recommend you do too. Note that you don't want to use RED (permanent) thread lock because if you need to remove the cover on the back of the slide you'll need to take this rack-assist off. This advice to apply thread lock is NOT in the instructions that come with the product; personally I think it should be (unless I'm really doing something inadvisable by applying it).One other thing. The two pieces of this item are plastic and if you tighten the screws too much the plastic is likely to crack/break. I guess getting the screws tight enough to hold the product tight, but not so tight that the plastic breaks, is hit or miss without torque advice. (I guess that I lucked out so far.)Anyway, so far I love this product, and hope they make more that fit the slides of other centerfilre semiautos I have.

Life saver! I can keep shooting!
Excellent product! I bought two, for my Glock 42, and 19. LIFE SAVERS! I was going to sell them, because of my older hands. I can’t believe how much easier I can rack the slides! It feels like when I was thirty, lol!Simple to mount, perfect fit! Fast shipping! Thanks so much!

Excellent product, well made, affordable price.
Excellent product, well made, affordable price. My Glock 42 has a very narrow slide and shallow serrations that makes it harder to rack compared to my Ruger Security 380. It doesn't interfere with the sights and doesn't have to be removed to field strip the gun for cleaning.

Works great but with a caveat
Easy to install and makes it easier to rack the slide, and fits into holster same as before. However, when field stripping I noticed the slide would hang up or interfere during removal and installation. This is caused by the extra material on the lower section that wraps around under the slide. It lifts the slide up slightly, causing interference with the rear slide guides. I can see witness marks starting to develop on this area where the contact is occurring. Some mention filing this material off but it could cause it to slide up and off. I expect this material to wear down with use which may improve the issue. I can remove/install the slide but it takes increased effort. Going to keep it on for now and will update with any new info

Easy to install & helps a lot!
I purchased this for my father and installed it on his new slide-action pistol because he was experiencing difficulty gripping it. This made all the difference. It's well made and installs in seconds. The look even matches the color of the gun's metal. Very impressed. No complaints.

Easy mod.
Great mod for a lady to assist in racking a slide, extremely easy to install with included allen wrench.

Makes racking easy but not that easy to install
First of all, I have to admit that I did not fully read all of the warnings on the Amazon product page. Specifically, what I missed was that it didn't fit on my S&W Shield with fiber optic sights. I found this out after it arrived. However, after a little trimming with a Dremel that problem was solved. I also found the tiny little screw and nut difficult to get into their respective holes properly. I finally had to screw the nut on to the screw, lower the lower the whole thing into the nut hole then gently unscrew it, leaving the nut properly oriented in its hole, then gently screw the screw upside down until it engaged the nut. Finally, when I tightened the screw down on the pistol, the slide rack did not lay flat and engage the sides of the slide. I solved this by making a small shim. (the box says that there is one inside for use with a Mod 2 Shield, but there wasn't.)Now, if you are still with me, once installed, it works great. Racking the slide is now easy and the gun still fits in its holster with no problem. It is well worth the extra effort to install.
