Do you have to use a rgb header or can you connect it another way?

It needs to be the specific DRGB header which only accepts 5v. Newer motherboards have this and should be 3pin. For my motherboard, X570 Taichi the layout = Pin, Pin, Blank, Pin. If you try to use this with a 4 pin 99.9% chance of frying something.

Have 2 M1 strips individually they fully light up when I try to connect them only 1 3pin on mobo the last 1/3rd doesn't light up any help is welcome

You should check your motherboard's software that controls the lighting strips. It probably has a setting for the # of addressable pixels that it will send control sequences to. (ie: A typical Corsair light strip only has 10 pixels so their software will only send out a control sequence of 10 unless you tell it you have multiple led strips connected in series). If it's not obvious, try changing the software to think it's controlling an argb fan or some device with more lights.

My asus prime x570 pro has a 3pin 5v. This will work correct?

It might, depending on how many led strips you plan attaching on it. For me, I had to buy the separate phanteks rgb hub because my MSI X570 carbon did not have enough power to control it. Try it first, then you can always purchase the $12 hub separately if it doesn’t.

Will this work with the msi pro vdh wifi mobo?

You didn’t mention the chipset so I’m not sure exactly which motherboard you are referring to but they all seem to have rgb connectors so it should work fine.
