Mr. Coffee Alderton Tea Kettle, 2.3 Quarts, Green

UPDATED 11/20/16: I previously stated that the whistle was too quiet, but I think it was my fault because I didn't have the kettle lid nested securely. Once I started making sure that the lid was pressed in place properly the whistle seems to work better. I have removed the part of my original review that stated the whistle was too quiet. EDITED ORIGINAL - I read all the reviews first and it seems to me that they are very inconsistent. Not the reviews themselves, but the manufacturing of this pot I'm guessing. For example, one reviewer said that the whistle was loud enough for her to hear it in the next room and another said that the whistle is softer than other teapots. Someone else said that the inside was rusting because they left water in it all the time and another said that the spout got too hot. I have had my kettle for a month now, I use it everyday and always leave water in it, yet there's no rust. Also, my spout doesn't get too hot that I can't flip it open with my bare fingers, and I don't need to use n oven mitt or tea towel to grab the handle and lift the hot kettle. Keep in mind though that I flip the spout open fairly quickly, so my finger or thumb is not resting on the spout, hence it never gets hot. Some people may be more sensitive than me. Overall I really like the kettle. The color is just as it appears on my monitor and it works exactly like it's supposed to. It looks great in my kitchen and gets the job done.

Item looks great, bought for christmas gift but shipped in the actual box and was 'in very bad shape ' upon arrival. Product seemed to be in good condition.

This was a gift for my roommate, who I think drinks about 5-10 cups of tea a day. She loves tea. Anyways, she had this rickety old tea kettle that had some miles on it, so I figured this would be a fantastic gift for her. First off, this tea kettle is bigger than I thought it would be, which is great since we can all have hot water at the same time for various hot drinks and not have to boil 2 or 3 kettles worth of water. The reason this kettle caught my eye was because how pretty it was. I mean, look at it! And it's even prettier in person. I love the color, the design, and how sturdy it looks AND feels. A nice feature that her old tea kettle didn't have was that the top handle folds down to the side, so you can put water in it easily without having to ridiculously maneuver the faucet or filtered-water pitcher around a handle that's in the way. The whistling sound on this tea kettle is very pleasant. It's clear and rings through our 3,000 sq ft house, and since it holds a lot of water and will take awhile to boil because of that, we can go about our business and hear it, even from the basement. I can't think of anything negative to say about this kettle, so I won't!! Great product, happy customer.

Great little teapot; well made, beautiful color, handle folds down for ease of filling, whistle is a quiet whistle. Just make sure to empty it inside if you wont be using all the water in it after a few hours so it does not rust as other reviews mention. A stainless teapot should not rust inside, but for some reason they do, it seems, according to the review(s). The handle did not get hot for me like it did for others, but the flip top of the pour spout does, so please remember to use a towel, or mitt on the spout tip before pouring. Would make a great gift.

So glad I ordered this teapot over all the rest. I love the whistle it makes. It's loud enough to hear in another room but not too loud. It seems very sturdy and you don't burn your hand on the handle. It's a nice color of green and I get compliments on it from guest. Hasnt rusted in my Florida kitchen. Overall the right teapot.

I have hardly used this kettle (maybe twice) and it is rusting on the inside bottom and showing marks on the outside bottom. I chose this because stainless steel should last forever and not rust. I would never buy a tea pot from Mr. Coffee again. I am disappointed that I didn't notice before the 30 day return period. It was a Christmas gift. It supposedly has a one year warranty from the manufacturer but I will probably have to return it at my own expense, which will not be worth it.

Absolutely LOVE this tea kettle! First of all, it is beautiful both in design and color. It looks great on my stove top! Very easy to use, easy to clean, and does it's job perfectly. Spout is very wide, but great for saving time on pouring. The whistle sound can get a bit loud, but is great for me as a tend to work in a separate room and need the loud whistle to alert me of when the water is finished boiling. Good size, I only need to fill it about 1/4 of the way to serve my husband and myself. Would absolutely recommend to a friend or family member, and am considering purchasing one of these for my mom and sister!

I love this teapot is my favorite color and it makes maybe four or five cups of tea depending on how big your teacup is. I really like that the whistle isn't so obnoxious it's like a light wind howling whistle and it starts off as a hissing sound. I also like how easy it is to clean, I only use it for boiling the water I have not used it to steep loose leaf tea so I just rinse it with some water and a couple drops of soap then bend the handle so that I can place it upside down to dry. It doesn't take long foe the water to boil in this kettle and keeps the water warn for like 15 -20 minutes after. I hope that it will last me a long time because I really really like it 😊😚😍 (Btw it's actually a pretty big kettle)

Item was beautiful and really aesthetically pleasing addition to the kitchen. However you can only fill up below the spout otherwise when it boils it will spill out from the spout. There was no whistle at all coming from mine and the handle did get quite warm.

I love the shape and the red colour. It has had quite a lot of use and still looks good as new. We use it on the gas stove in our caravan.
