Great tools
I love these. This is my first set of a higher quality tool set and I love them so far. The whip finisher took some getting used to, but I think I have it now.

Great gift
Husband makes his own fishing baits. Needed the scissors, so I ordered this. He has no complaints.

Nice kit
Nice tools not crazy about the case though. I accidentally caught the bobbin threader wire in the zipper and ruined it. Dumb on my part but just sayin…

Better Than Expected
I' not an expert, but the quality was better than expected for the price. You can definitely work with these and figure out what you use the most. Then spend a fortune and make your wife mad. I'm using them to dress hooks, not make flies so nothing fancy....yet. They work great for my purposes.

Good beginner set!
As described. A nice set. Always room for improvement so 4 stars.

You get what you pay for.
Was looking to get a spare set of flying tools. This set meets that need but there are a few things left to be desired. The bobbin threader was not securely attached and came apart just by picking it up by the wire. The bobbins are nice except very difficult to get threaded because the backside of the thread guides is flat and you have to get the threader just right to go through the far side. Might consider tapering the bottoms of the guides for easier use. Not sure I would buy this set again, but it serves its purpose. Would not recommend set for primary tool set

Some ok things.
The scissors are sharp but non adjustable so you get what you get bent or not. The bobbin threader is frail and the wire can pop right out of the handle I just use fishing line. The hackle pliers are fine you may need to bend them straight. The bobbins are good, adjust tension by gently bending inwards or out. I personally do not like the style of whip finisher I got a loon and was much happier. sharp point utensil is …sharp… for the price of good scissors you get a bunch of equipment pest suited to a starter so they can learn what causes tools to fail or break. Like don’t use your scissors on wire. Take care of the ceramic tips on bobbins and don’t bend them to hard or fast. What is needed what is not.All in all It’s not bad, but it’s not great.

OK starter kit, but...
... A beginner will get frustrated with the whip finisher, scissors and dubbing spinner. The styles in this kit are very old-school and there are a lot better options available for less. The bobbins are not bad, and the cost of the kit is probably equal to the value of the bobbins. I ended up throwing the dubbing spinner and whip finisher away. The scissors are good enough for snipping wire and thick tinsel that you do not want to dull a better set of scissors on.
