20 Pack Ceramic Wire Connector - Large 18-8AWG, High Heat Splicing Porcelain Connector (01)

Hey guys. Here is a situation that many of us have been in. We are connecting a couple wires together and well we know we should be using porcelain twist on the wires but we don't have any. Do we have to use the porcelain? Well a guy I know told me about making the decision to use plastic wire twist only to have the decision come back to bite him. While his wife was cooking on a top burner on an electric range, the unmistakable oder of melting plastic grew more and more obvious. In a few more minutes, smoke started from the burner area. It was his hope that it was just the "new" burning off of the new parts he had just installed. After lifting the burners and top of the stove to gain access to the area he had worked on earlier, he found that the heat and or electricity that is involved in the connection that it's all melted. He said that all he could think about was the porcelain twist ties. Short cuts will kill you every time. Maybe other people too. Think about it. Don't take short cuts. This little tiny thing kinda scared me. A 2$ item almost caused a fire that could have burned his house down. Remember, his wife and children? live in that house too. Leason learned. For me any way.

These are large. Hard to tell in pictures considering many same shape, and different size. I wish regulation would require size numbers on them so you could order more of 1s you need. They are the Size of a quarter

These wire nuts work great. We've tried others that claimed to be "high temp" but melted under high temperatures. These grip good for a tight connection as well.

I used this for installing my Rheem water heater after replacement. The old one had these caps melted at the top electrical connection until the inner metal made contact with the metal case and the whole thing almost burnt the house down.

These Ceramic connectors work great. They are big enough to connect multiple wires.
