A lot of fun for fighting game beginners or veterans
There's a a lot to love about this fighting game. The controls were designed so that you can use traditional fighting game motions or a simple button press for special moves, ideal for beginners but still handy even at high level play. Specials all have a cool down and each have their own "meter" for using enhanced versions independent of the super move gauge that would normally be used, meaning you have more opportunities to use the enhanced versions without being able to overuse them, and adding a bit of strategy since you have to decide if using the enhanced version is worth losing access to the move entirely for a few seconds. This also ties into the simple commands since using the traditional motions gives less cool down giving new players incentive to learn. Dodge and roll commands similar to King of Fighters, and just defense mechanics give you a lot of defensive options that reward skill. The game isn't full of complex combos and really rewards strong basic fundamental skills. The roster is small but offers a good variety of character archetypes with some being very unique to the others, and there have been several new characters added after release as paid DLC. Graphically, the game is gorgeous using 3D models that mimic a 2D look as the game plays like a traditional 2D fighter. The audio is excellent with very distinct sound effects and dual-audio voice acting, and a wonderful score that includes a lot of remixes from the mobile game this is based on. The general art direction and camera work during character intros, victory poses, and while performing flashy super animations is also beautiful and dynamic. Aside from traditional 1v1 fighting game play, there's also a beatem-up mode that can be fun when you play two player co-op versus regular characters or giant bosses. Unfortunately, stages without bosses are dull, and the loading times are sickeningly long making it feel laborious. This mode is also where you'll find the game's story, and is used for unlocking weapon skins and the final boss as a playable character. I enjoyed it, but I can see it being an issue for many people. The online play is serviceable, but could be better. Without the best possible connection between you and your opponent, you can experience a log of input lag that throws off the timing of your moves and combos. I have had some very good matches even with people on the other side of the globe when conditions are best, though. Please, don't use wifi. The content of the limited edition is really nice for collectors for the price, and the code that gives you bonuses in the mobile game for accomplishing things in this game is a nice bonus if you play both. Overall, I really enjoy and recommend the game.

Great Game And Goodies - Premium Edition Doesn't Have Character Pack Though!
I love this game and this is the second time I've bought it (I also bought the Hong Kong version a month a go), and even a month or so in, it's still a really fun game! The game is easy enough for true beginners to understand, but high level players can still enjoy it as well. The single player and co-op RPG mode are also fun - mechanically a lot more engaging than what you get out of a lot of other modern fighting games these days. My only gripe is that this edition doesn't include the Season 1 character pack. I would have preferred to pay a little more for the digital contents to include the Season 1 character pack, instead of the colors and avatars. The Hong Kong version I purchased had a pack that was both the game + character pack, so this kind of stood out to me as a knock on the premium edition. Still, it's a great buy if you want the cool art book.

Fantastic
Great game. This game definitely has a lot of polish and the animations are well-made to match the characters beautifully. The RPG mode mimics the style of GBF on mobile and will definitely keep the original fans of that game satisfied. The game's artwork is very beautiful also with several different pieces that complement the style of the game. Take a look thought the artbook, there are several great illustrations. Music is good, but not my personal favorite or much of my taste... but I can say it's composed well. If I can complain about one thing, it's the cost of the premium edition and that it doesn't include the season pass for characters or color pack. If the premium edition had this, the game would be nearly flawless. But at the end of the day, the game is excellent and I'd recommend to fighting game players and anime lovers all-around.

Pleasantly surprised!!
This game is actually really good! Was not expecting such a great fighter to be honest. It is simple enough to learn but difficult to master too. The visuals are amazing and beautiful too like straight out of a anime during fights, and not like 3D at all which is a amazing thing in itself. Deep mechanics but not too over the top with repeating combos over and over like other fighters. It's more about how to react to situations and finding openings type of fighter, and I like that over memorizing combos. Combos are there yes, but it's not as required to be learned. It almost in a way seems tactical, idk how to describe it. Really like the mechanics. Visually I LOVE it. Give it a go if you and another friend or family member is around for a good 2 player fighting experience.

Decent premium edition, great game
GBVS is a great game, the visuals are amazing which comes to no surprise considering the developers behind this game are the people behind the Guilty Gear series and other fighters. Easy to pick up for beginners of fighting games and the RPG mode is good enough for anyone who likes Granblue Fantasy. The premium edition leaves plenty to be desired, for the price you don't get a season 1 pass. The artbook, sample soundtrack, box, and small Vyrn art w/ bonus code for color palettes & avatar + background are OK at best for the price of $79.99.

Was a very cool game NEW UPDATE-
This game has some really cool graphics and soundtrack, with addictive gameplay as a beat-up I've got bored with Tekken, Dead or alive, Soul calibur, guilty gear and street fighter games, so trying this out online was really cool, I bought the sequel which is just an updated version of this versus box set, it's called granblue fantasy versus rising, sadly it's only available digital edition, however I bought this physical one because it contains the artwork, music soundtrack and everything it states including PS4 theme which is underneath the card inside. The box but outside the actual game box. Versus rising is literally the same thing but with updated graphics, so if you had to pick one rising is the best, but like I said this is only available as far as I know on digital, I'd still play this game as it's kinda cool to play both versions, or just owning the physical and getting the digital for gameplay is also a doable thing IMO. There's just something about owning physical games, and especially collectors or deluxe editions, a true gamer knows what I'm talking about. Something you might not know, is that this game is censored, but if you complete the main story RPG mode, there is a hidden option in the settings that appears after completing the game, and it allows you to view the original version of the game uncensored. I don't know if Versus Rising has this option, but I heard there might be, but could be a rumour I'd need to google/startpage.com that info. Anyways the game is ESRB Teen and is USA version from Amazon, if sold by sellers it maybe EU UK or USK version which is not a good version to buy. Luckily from Amazon seller they got it right and sold the US version. Box set came in perfect condition, but I had to add gift options so they would use a box. it's an extra 4.99, but I'd say getting it in perfect condition warrants that extra price tag. Top game, but 5 stars are saved for Granblue fantasy Versus Rising. P.S I only got this because of the hype of grandblue fantasy relink, wow now that's an action JRPG game and a half. Now that I've seen the 2 season anime of granblue fantasy, and the 4 OVA's I believe, it's enhanced the gameplay even more for this versus game, rising and granblue fantasy relink. Update- Reduced to 3 stars because online mode is practically dead, it can take 10–50 minutes just for 1 game, this is ridiculous for a beautiful game, it has wasted potential. Should have been an online game with up to 4 players roaming around the world map, and then and airship to fly to different continents, and exploration and dungeon crawling with a lot of enemies and then bosses at the end, instead they made online a 4v1 super boss that sometimes have 100s of little enemies coming at you and once you defeat it you could either request the party to do repeat battles which become very tedious or quit and re-queue for a new boss. Why didn't they just make the game random queue mode once you find 4 players you could randomly queue different boss fights with instead of only quit and repeat. This game devs had nearly 10 years making this game, and they couldn't even think of something as simple as that? At first, I gave this game 4 stars it was near perfect, but after playing with it over 500 hours I realised I had to push through over 200 hours of grind, and it stopped becoming interesting all because of the boring repeated boss fights just to grind for gear that has a low chance in dropping. Here's what they can do to fix the game. -Let you queue random battles in multiplayer -Let you play the main storyline campaign in multiplayer online. -Create a new open world with loads of enemies to fight against in either single player /local co-op or online co-op. -Make it easier to get drops so we don't have to grind. -You might want to make is easier to beat Lucilius in online co-op because it's ridiculously hard especially when you get players that don't know how to beat him, once they die the whole game ends, and even experienced players cant beat it online unless the party knows how to beat him too. Think before you make online near impossible to beat this way in pug groups. Bottom line is if you want a good single player experience with cool emotes beautiful graphics and characters and voices, with cool special attacks and music this will fill you in for about 50–80 hours offline, and online mode is fun if you get some good groups, but grinding gear and getting characters up can be a chore. If the game company Cygames would actually implement my vision above just off the top of my head the game would have sold well over 10 million copies maybe even 20 million if they make the world massive and add a lot of things to do in it. It could even compete with Zelda Tears of the kingdom trust me I'm a super gamer since 1983.

Great Game and the Code works just fine
First of all, there is a lot of reviews on the site that are ridiculously low cause they call say the code doesn't work. What NONE of them know is that the code doesn't work right off the bat. There is an instruction booklet inside the actual game where it list step by step what to do so make the code work. This game is probably one of the simplest and most noob friendly fighting game I have played in a long time.
