Stoned: Photographs & treasures from life with the Rolling Stones Hardcover – November 5, 2019

I probably have a dozen or more books on the history of the Rolling Stones. What makes this one special is the informality of the photos. These photos clearly were not arranged by any PR people or other bureaucracy within the Stones organization. These are the kind of photos that you and I have of our lives as well. You can practically smell the weed, taste the beer, and hear the kids laughing in the background. There is a total authenticity in the events shown here. And I like the way Jo Wood describes the photos using her very comfortable English slang. You can practically hear her Essex accent. There’s also quite a bit of material here, it took me about an hour and a half to make it through the book and I didn’t read everything. But I will look forward to going back through it again. Overall, some great photographs of some really interesting people having lots of good times.

The book is awesome - I haven't finished it yet, but it's a keeper. Unfortunately, the quality of the binding is poor. The book will probably start falling apart in just a few years. Considering the price of the book, this is something to consider.

This is a beautifully made book filled with loads of never before seen photos of The Rolling Stones. They are from the authors private collection. Wished there was more storytelling.
