Ancient history is not just for kids
I love ancient Egyptian history. The picture pictured lol isn't king tut but Renewed ii. But I went to the museum and it did mention that king tut was an amazing pharoah like Ramses but wasn't as long as rameses. So I wanted to learn more about tut, and these books are perfect. So buy them now they are great and makes history easy to learn.

Good way to get kids interested in history
We bought this book because my son needed it for his 3rd grade class. His teacher had books and we accidentally left his copy outside during the rain!We ordered this as a replacement, and I found the story very informative and yet interesting for my kid. It's hard to get kids interested in non-fiction and The Who was series is great for that.Like I said, this was for school, so it is also utilized by teachers. It's a great series and the King Tut story is of interest to kids. Worth the buy for sure!

Great ancient Egypt book for 2nd through 5th graders
This is a great overview of ancient Egyptian life and Egyptian archeological history. The book uses the discovery of King Tut's tomb by Howard Carter to discuss these wider issues. Not enough is known about Tutankhamun to really write a full biography book for children about his life. Thus, I'd say only about a third of the book actually talks about him while he was alive. The rest discusses his father Amenhotep, everyday ancient Egyptian life, Egyptian religion, Howard Carter, the Rosetta Stone and Hieroglyphics, papyrus, and the genesis of the modern King Tut's curse myth.My 8 year old daughter is reading through this now for Ancient Egypt study. This whole series is a wonderful resource for advanced second graders through fifth graders. The official reading level for this book is 3.4.They are cheap to buy and pack in loads of information in a conversational style of text that children will enjoy. Elementary school libraries usually carry many of these books now. The more of these Grosset & Dunlap produce the better!

Perfect for biography reading lessons and report writing in 3rd/4th gr
I bought these for my third grade classroom. They are great for the biography genre and then to use for report writing. The three years I've used them so far the kids LOVED them. Easy for their reading levels, informative, and people they have heard of in their lives. They would read their own and then read other that they had heard of. Could have left these books out 1/2 year and they would have still been reading them.

Very nice biography series for kids
I love this series! They are great, easy-to-read, fact based biographies that my children have grown up with. Sacagawea was our first book because of my daughter's obsession and from there we moved to other strong historical women, such as Helen Keller and Amelia Earhart. Then we would find subjects to correspond with whatever my kids were studying at school. Really, really recommend this series!!!
