Wainwright's Coast To Coast Walk

I Read a Novel and Found an Adventure
I read the novel You Are Here by Dave Nicholls, which chronicles the Coast to Coast Walk taken by two reluctant walkers who are drawn to love each other. Noah, a middle school teacher, and Marnie are so mis-matched, yet so perfect for each other. This isn't really a romance. But the story was compelling....The Walk was even more compelling!! I walked portions of the Camino de Santiago and have been seeking another walk in nature. This one is shorter than the Camino, for which my poor feet will be thankful. I haven't gone yet on the Coast to Coast Walk; I am still in the planning stage. But I can hardly wait!!!

Great guide
This is a great guidebook for those who are planning the coast to coast walk or who are interested in Wainwright’s work. It is sufficiently detailed to use as a guide book for the walk along with bits of background information and historical references. It’s not the easiest to read the script in which it’s printed, but it’s useful nonetheless

the beautiful calligraphy, the extraordinary drawings
It is impossible to fault any of Wainwright's books, this one especially. All of his genius is evident here--the fastidious detail, the beautiful calligraphy, the extraordinary drawings. My low opinion of this edition pertains only to the format of the book, not to the content. The book is so reduced (for easy access while walking) that Wainwright's autograph pages, and especially the all-important maps--are very difficult to read. Please seek an edition of larger size.

A true Companion!
Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk is arguably the best long distance walk in England. I thoroughly recommend this updated guide, a ‘must have’ if you’re contemplating doing it. It’s also a wonderful souvenir or gift for an outdoors person

Excellent guide
Love this book. Have it in hard back but as a bibliophile just had to have paperback to read and carry whenever I want. Wainwright classic

Nice to have, light, but lacks information.
If you’re mainly going to use a map and know exactly where you want to stay along the route then this is great because it’s really light and it’s “the” guidebook. If your eyesight is not as good as it used to be the lovely detailed explanations and drawings are not so easy to read. This is a really “nice to have”, but for practical help, clearer maps and loads of info the Trailblazer is better in my opinion.
