Very Fresh and Natural Sesame Seeds
Fresh, clean, and high quality sesame seeds. I like that they’re raw, unroasted, and unsalted perfect for baking, cooking, and toppings. Great value and excellent quality. Would buy again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Big bag for a great price
This bag of sesame seeds is a great deal for the amount of sesame seeds you get, especially if you go through a lot of them like I do. Yupik is a great brand that consistently puts out high quality nutritional foods, so this isn’t my first time buying from them. Some of their stuff can be a bit more pricey, but most items are budget friendly and everything so far is worth the price!

Unhulled sesame seeds at an excellent price
These are UNHULLED sesame seeds. I purchased these primarily to make homemade tahini, for the ultimate purpose of making homemade hummus. As soon as they arrived in my mailbox yesterday, I proceeded with the recipe and was not disappointed. It didn't go as expected; seldom does anything I do go that way the first time! But the results were outstanding! Homemade tahini and hummus is the way to go if you have the time to spend and own the right appliances. This is important to know: there are two ways you can buy sesame seeds: hulled and unhulled. Those are confusing terms and could be misinterpreted, so to be precise, "hulled" really means "dehulled," in other words, the hulls have been removed by a pretty extensive process involving soaking, chemicals, and physical removal of the hulls. "Unhulled" means they still have the hulls intact and never went through the dehulling process. Unhulled seeds (this product) are smaller, darker in color, tougher, and a bit more bitter than the hulled (dehulled) sesame seeds that you normally find on hamburger buns, bagels, and in the spice section of your supermarket. Most people would prefer hulled seeds (NOT this product) for most applications. I found these to be desirable due to their great value. I paid $9.99 for a one kilogram package with free Prime shipping. At a penny per gram, that's pretty hard to beat. It's easier to process sesame seeds in your food processor or blender if they've been (de)hulled (again, NOT this product). Hulled seeds will break down into tahini much more quickly; these required 3-4 times as long, and never liquified the way hulled seeds would. BUT...I used these to make tahini, which then just stayed in the food processor as I added the garbanzo beans, lemon juice, aquafaba, etc. and continued to process into a fantastic, delicious hummus that's the best my wife and I have ever had. It was smoother than any we've ever bought in a store. We also just sprinkled some on homemade bagels this morning before they went into the oven. My wife made a small batch, and sprinkled some with sesame seeds out of a spice can from the supermarket (hulled), and as an experiment, she sprinkled two with this product (unhulled). Honestly if you weren't aware there was a difference, you might not notice. I could kind of tell when I tried to, but it really didn't matter. So, my verdict: I'm extremely happy with Yupik Natural Raw Sesame Seeds. To be able to buy 1 kg, i.e., 2.2 pounds, for $9.99 with free shipping is a very good value, a small fraction of what it would cost to buy the equivalent amount of sesame seeds in the supermarket spice section. They do what I want them to do, which is primarily to make tahini/hummus, but now we know they also work fine sprinkled on bread products as well. If you need hulled sesame seeds, this isn't for you, and I'm sure Amazon has many listings of those as well. You'll pay more for them, but if you don't want the hulls, then that's the way to go.

These are tasty in smoothies
Sesame seeds are praised for being heart healthy. I've been nutribullet fan for decades, which is really a juicer that keeps the pulp. It liquefies these seeds too. Seeds (all kinds) are very nutritious, adding them really steps the game up several notches.

Sproutable, fresh, raw, untreated.
In case anyone was wondering, these are sproutable. At least my bag is. Vendors source products from different suppliers, maybe they'll source some in the future that are not and the seller does not make any claims that they are, but I've successfully sprouted a tray of these and the germination rate is good. That speaks favorably to the freshness and that they're not treated or irradiated etc in any way. Just raw, unprocessed whole sesame seeds The question of whether it's a good idea to sprout sesame seeds remains to be seen. Flavor, nutrition, etc. They are slow to germinate and grow relative to other seeds that I sprout for food. As for normal use, they're whole grain sesame seeds. They contain the bran and germ. I've read reviews complaining that they're a little bitter. That's true, very slightly. Sesame seed hulls are indeed slightly bitter, it pays to know what the heck you're buying before you run and complain in a review. "This bottle of water was wet!". "This quesadilla had cheese in it!". Hulled white sesame seeds are much sweeter and milder tasting, but also lacking a lot of nutrition. That describes most processed food. Looking forward to running some through my Omega horizontal juicer to see if I can make some kind of raw whole grain tahini or toasted sesame butter. These are delicious lightly toasted and sprinkled on a variety of foods, and as a whole food the nutrition is far more dense and complete than hulled sesame seeds. Loaded with fiber, great source of calcium and other minerals. Great price.
