Essentials of Oceanography 6th Edition

I found that reading this book is a chore. The chapters go in-depth about topics such as water chemistry and ocean sediment. However, the amount of space devoted to technical data and cold, hard facts far outnumbers the exposition of why all that data is important. To the credit of the book, each subsection is capped off by a quick review with questions that reinforce the main ideas of that section. That way, when I finish a few pages totally lost, I can get a little guidance as to what I was supposed to learn from what I just read.Also, the book is supposed to be a paperback. I'm not sure if this is a fluke but the seller sent me a binder with the pages of the book bound in it.

Book arrived in great condition and was perfect for my class. We were assigned the 7th edition that just came out which sells for 120-180 dollars, which is ridiculous. This used copy of the 6th edition has been just as good for me in class. Even the teacher says that there weren't enough changes to justify a new edition. She then made a note to tell her other classes they could get a used 6th edition and save some money.

IT's a textbook, so you know, it is not the most exciting thing to read, but the pictures are gorgeous. I have to admit that it is a little easier to read than most textbooks, especially since it is science based. I would recommend the book

Paperback textbook arrived in worn state with some writing within and noticeable cover damage but it was legible and all pages and coverings were still attached in place.

Great reference book. I enjoyed reading it. Was helpful in the online class I took. Plenty of relevant information. Highly recommended.
