Dinty Moore Hearty Meals Beef Stew 20 oz (pack of 4)

Dinty Moore stew has been around for years! I am 72, and my mom used to buy it a couple of times a month and our family considered it to be a real treat. It is not as good as homemade, but is great to have on the shelf for a really quick meal. I use it to make quick pot pies. I also keep it in my emergency food storage.

Dinty Moore Beef Stew... We keep this in the pantry for emergencies, storms, etc. Not bad fare for lunch, served over a bed of rice with a side of hot biscuits. Not as good as homemade, of course, but nice to have on hand.If this review has been helpful to you, please click yes below. Thank you.

tastes great, and V. convenient. As I said in a comment to another review, MSG, etc., but tastes great, and a perfect serving size for one, I got the small ones, part of my survival food stockpile, up here on the Canadian border where we have to plan for power outatages in -10F weather.

I have to say that I don't eat beef stew often, even though I love it. I ended up getting this for a quick meal and I wasn't disappointed. I love the flavor of the gravy in this beef stew, I just wish there were more of it. Also, I thought there were too many potatoes and not enough meat but if you love potatoes (I don't) I guess that wouldn't be a huge issues. I also want to add that if it isn't impossible I'd LOVE to see there be some peas in this stew also. Regardless of these small issues I think this beef stew is fantastic. I enjoyed the texture of the meat and the carrots were the right amount of soft for my liking. In addition to everything previously said I want to mention that if you've got issues with greasy foods or if you have a history of heartburn this stew probably isn't a good choice. I love the flavor, loved how quick it was to cook (about 2 minutes in the microwave), but it was very oily. All in all though it was a good little meal. I'm not sure it's worth what Amazon is trying to charge because I can buy it here for about $2 a can. Otherwise, quick and easy meal that's also pretty tasty!

I ordered this a couple of times before and no problems. Last week I got it again and the top of one of the cans had corrosion on it. I pushed down slightly on the lid and it broke through.
